We used to have a car that had been converted, but we struggled with it. not many petrol stations sold gas so it was awkward. And then not many garages would do any work on it because they were concerned about the gas system, meaning that we were stuck to a gas specialist doing even minor non gas related repairs to it. Saying all that with the price of fuel it has to be a consideration, but factoring the increased repair and maintenance into the decision.

My local dealers or non franchised repair shops have no problems with maintenance on mine. Must be just your srea.
Not as many gas stations as I would like, but then at 49.9p a litre I can afford to travel some distance to get it. There are 6 within 12 miles of me. Even factoring in a 24 mile round trip it is still cheapper than burning petrol.

surely if everyone were to convert to lpg that would run out just as quickly as oil though?

rep added. very useful. it reckons that my Multipla willl cost a touch under 2 grand to convert, an will save me £500 a year in fuel

means i'll have to wait 4 years before i benefit from the conversion
