What was allegedly said is on page 5. Two very different versions of events, not sure which one I believe and I guess we'll never know the truth since no one else appears to have heard what went on.

    253. Mr Suarez claimed that when he used the word 'negro' in speaking to Mr.Evra,he was doing so in a conciliatory and friendly way.

the word negro sure has very strong connotations of slavery and black inequalities but surely using the word doesn't make someone racist. the term surely is racist but just because someone uses the term doesn't make them racist regardless we still need to eradicate racism in football and next..... the world.

Suarez has clearly lied. His manager said at first he said nothing, then that it was just normal language where he comes from.

Evra asked what he said and says he was called an N. Suarez says he replied "it was a normal foul."

    Yeh right!

400 pages... I'll give it a miss. Conclusion drawn in first couple of pages.

This is actually providing a pretty good insight as to what football players say to each other on the pitch.

"Mr Evra told us that he began the conversation by saying "Concha de tu hermana". Mr Evra's evidence was that this is a phrase used in Spanish like when you say "f******g hell" in English, but the literal translation is "your sister's pussy"."

It is all about the right context, I am not going to use the full word here, but black friends call one another "ni...rs"....Suarez is not a friend of Evra and has really no grounds to be using what he terms as a "friendly" term.

Kind of like if you are overweight and a mate jests with you by calling you "tubby" etc, you can take it with the "affection" it is meant with..but if someone you don't know uses a derogatory term about your weight, you could easily take offense.

I wasn't there Guv so I don't really know what to make of it but figured folks might wanna at least have the chance to read what the FA wrote not the media's abridged version.
Agree though at giving it a miss myself :)

Could someone tell me what the word Suarez used is "supposed" to mean in South American Spanish?

Nearly finished skimming through it now, but my understanding of it is that Evra allegedly told Suarez "you are South American", then Suarez responded by telling Evra that he was black (in Spanish, obviously). Then, depending on whose version of events you believe, Suarez made some other racist comments too.

Nice of the FA to release it.
    boydent999
So, was Suarez offended by being called South American and not specifically a Uruguayan perhaps?
    dog_cop
good should have been a longer ban .. for telling porkies
    shauneco
Well, From what Evra has stated which the FA agree with Suarez clearly comes across as a Racist.
