Macbook External Hard drive?

Can someone recommend a external hard, preferably something with a USB and firewire connections and has a power supply built in, also is there any way i can go between mac and pc, i know that the formats are different, and there is software macdrive? is there any free software available like this?

If you get a mac hard drive you could buy this program, which allows windows to read it like a normal drive, http://www.mediafour.com/products/macdrive
Or you can format it to NTFS, but it is only good for transfering files from PC to mac

Format the drive to use Fat32, windows and OSX can then read and write to it. Don't know about the software.

apprently u can only do that for drives 4gb of less, well thats acording to this website
