I am sick of eBay taking monpoly and i dont want to be one of those people who will sit and complain but still keep using ebay. So, I decided to move to eBid and hope others will too as I have read good things about them !

Who else used eBid here ?

I had a go with eBid a few months back, but did not like it much.
#2
it doesn't get half the traffic so fleabay can keep on abusing its position.
#3
it will do though if more people move, £0 listing fee & £0 final fee where do they make the money?

Do you have to subcribe to the £49.99 lifetime membership fee to sell on there?

Most i know eventually go back to Ebay due to the lack of bidders on ebid. Just an unfortuanate fact, you may pay more on Ebay but you are more likely to get more on the final price. Ebid just can't attract the volume required to kick start it.|Its a catch 22 the buyers won't go because of the number of sellers and the sellers won't go due to the number of buyers;.Until a company enters with a big push and a free service for a few months Ebay is just too big and dominant.

Take for example one seller has 1859 listings, a member since april and only 28 feedback, not exactly high volume selling.

The only companies that can topple eBay are Google and Microsoft. I would have thought Google would have come out with one by now!

true - I tried playtrade for a while but it's pretty **** & seems to offer very very little protection for sellers - even less than ebay.

sad to hear this
I supposed ebid is a step up from gumtree!

had a look on ebid but the prices sellers charge are terrible and hence the lack of bids or interest.

I'll only be impressed if eBay somehow manage to buy paypalsucks.com, ... not going to happen :w00t:.

I've had items and cheap stuff on ebid for six weeks and not one sale. Waste of space i'm afraid.
While people continue to be happy to line ebay's pockets then things won't change. I'd rather use exchange & Mart than ebay personally, they are crud.

Yahoo used to have a successful free online auction, that sadly closed.

QXL also used to be as big as eBay, in the UK, that also folded.

Well, people critiise ebay but no-one seems to have the cahones to do nowt about it. People have no vision i'm afraid. I've tried ebid and there is nothing happening. Nothing at all :-(
If I want to sell my items, I have absolutely NO choice but to use ebay :x

I used to use QXL quite a lot a couple of years ago. Used to buy copied dvd's there lol even of an adult nature!
Anybody know what happened to it?
