I have had enough now, we have got 9 yes 9 magpies in our garden everyday.
They are wrecking everything, they have ripped through the cover on my hammock and broke the rope on my sons trampoline. Any ideas on how to get rid of them?

get a cat!!
or one of those cat statue thingies with glowing eyes
Windchimes sometimes help too

Salute them and unleash hell with an air rifle, or alternatively recruit the assistance of C32 - He'd make a good scarecrow.

Don't you get a kiss for seeing nine of the blighters?

Get a cat cut out from the garden centre and watch them scatter or you could get a bird scarer :w00t:

There are all sorts of devices out there, the one I quite fancy connects to your hose/tap and when the detector senses movement it squirts a jet of water in the direction of the movement. it is primarily designed for cats but birds it will also work on.

Ive got a problem with the magpies getting into my chicken run while they are running around the garden and smashing the eggs they have laid in the meantime...

It has been suggested to use a plastic cheap door curtain...
Tie to a washing line or similar and the wind wafts it around scaring the birds...

Im going to try one over the chickens door...

I never knew magpies were so hilarious. I love Drubie's comments about the vicious ones that stalk him http://www.cyclingforums.com/t-286111-15-6.html

Thanks guys and gals off to buy some wind chimes and windmills, alot cheaper than a new trampoline and hammock.
Tried air-rifle but they all fly off as soon as the window or door is open.
