School holidays?

My oldest son is nearly 4 and in nursery and I normally LOVE the holidays but the older he gets the more boisterous and naughty he gets and it's more difficult this year!

What are your thoughts/ stories. Had good or bad times?

I'm loving the holidays because I get a bit of a lie in... :-D

However, I can't wait till Sept as my little girl starts school and my little man starts nursery, so for the first time in nearly 5 years I will have 2.5 hours a day to myself during the week - woohoo !!!!! However, I will no longer have no excuse for not dragging my backside down the gym again :p

Enjoy your kids while they are young. The years will fly by:thumbsup:

My twins did nursery last year and I went back to college, now have a job as teaching assistant that I start in 9 days time. I have been volunteering every day they were at nursery and spent the 1st 3 weeks of these holidays completely lost but have enjoyed the last 2. But roll on September 1st is all I can say :)

Some days are better than others.

I love spending some quality time with my boys, but when its raining and they cant get out and play....man the days tend to drag

but eldest 2 cant wait 4 them to go back!

I do like the school holidays and enjoy the quality time, but I earn less than my child care/holiday club costs for the three days I work.

I am ready for school to start so I can start earning again

I used to dread the holidays but since my eldest has left home I have realised how short the time we have them really is.
So now, when my other 2 start arguing and fighting I try to ignore it , difficult sometimes :) and think about how awfully quiet its going to be when they eventually leave the nest. As TD said "Enjoy your kids while they are young. The years will fly by" :)

EDIT: Can't wait for the end of these holidays, our boys are older now - one's off to Uni in 3 weeks - but they still manage to wind the OH up while I'm at work during the day, and then wind me up of an evening... GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!

It is quite amusing as they both think they are Bruce Lee so there are lots of "eehhhhh" "hiiiyyyaaa" etc

Same here, its like world war 3 some days!! Although I am getting a lay in. My daughter has been getting up with my son and making him breakfast for me. ( shes 15 ) But they DO antagonise one another some days. Then other days they are joined at the hip!!

Ive got peace for 10mins whilst OH has taken son in the tent in garden!!! ( YEP winding him right up just before he goes to bed!) MEN!

ALL in ALL I LOVE the Holidays cos I DNT WORK IN THE HOLIDAYS hahaha

Worst thing is, they don't grow out of it as they grow older, they just end up sporting a lot more bruises!

'fraid not - you tend to repeat yourself over and over again; you'll be saying the same things to them in 10 years time that you're telling them now :viking:

I work in retail and hate the school holidays as naughty kids constantly come in touching stuff and running around. :x

Most of the time their parents are with them though and let them misbehave!

Sorry if I sound like an old grump!!! :whistling:
