Hello, this story about little madeline has really got me, dont know just a bit scared i guess. im going to majorca in 3 weeks time with my 2 and half yr old son. I know he wont get abducted because i would never take my eyes off him for one second here let alone abroad but what is the numbers for ambulance incase say someone got ill over there and would the operators understand me?

I know im being paranoid but im one of these people that feels better if i have the knowledge.

Thanks x

The Emergency services for Majorca - Dial 112 which is for all services and they speak English.

Also The British Consulate is 971-712445

Yeah, anywhere in Europe you can dial 112 for emergency services.

Most do also if you are going through a holiday company they all have sepecific emergancy numbers and provide a translator incase. You'll be fine. Try not to worry too much and enjoy your holiday.

Have you got your NHS medical card (free) to take with you???

I'm sure you'll be fine yummymummy but as you say worth having some numbers on hand for peace of mind. Don't let it ruin your holiday though!

The reason this is all over the news is because it is absurdly ridiculously rare. I would list some things you have a better chance of happening to you but that might just scare you more!!

NHS card won't be any use at all in Spain. What you need is what used to be called the E11 entitles you to free basic healthcare as part of Europe
