It's time to tighten your belts, but there is only so much you can save.

So instead of just saving money, make more at the same time!

Before you know it, you'll have a brand new German supercar sitting on your driveway, and be the envy of all your friends.
That girl (man if you are a bird, or gay)that wouldn't look at you twice before, will be cooking you breakfast before you know it.

So, the point of this award winning thread is to post a few snips on how to make a few pennies.

It might only be a few £'s a week, but it all adds up.
If you made an extra £5 a week, that's... Well you get the idea.

1st.

I play around with consoles a lot, so I always have people asking me to help them find games/ accessories for them.
If they want it, I will buy it through Quidco, and I get to keep the Quidco money.

This leads onto all sorts of offshoots that can be a few pennies, but yesterday for example, I made an extra £60(before tax).

It's all extra, for little effort.

It's all about long money. Not get rich quick.

dont bother paying with your own money, steal a wallet.

other peoples cash and cards are a valuable source of extra income.

Cashback isn't generally money that can be made from no outlay, unless it's made from you purchasing for a 3rd party, but "yeah".

Go to a local auction, buy stuff, sell it on eBay.

Alternatively, wear a short skirt, put on some make up, stand on a street corner and hope for the best?*

*Disclaimer - I don't really advocate this.

Thanks for the suggestion. Is it something you do yourself?
I think it's one of those things you have to know about to be able to make any money from.

I did not make any suggestions.
Cashback is an added bonus from me, I make money from other things.

Yes I do sometimes, I usually buy glassware & ceramics. I don't know a whole lot about them but I know enough to know when there can be a profit made :)

Sorry, I missed this one in amongst the trolling, and general naysayers.
Do people actually buy it, apart from friends and family?

Again, it sounds like a great hobby(as mine is) that can be a source of some shopping money.

I don't know anyone incapable, but I get lots of people asking me what the best price for console related stuff. I can usually tell them off the top of my head, and they ask me to order it for them.

1. People are lazy.
2. "thesaint" is a go getter.
3. HUKD
4. Profit????

Pretend you met lord lucan whilst back packing in Goa and sell your story to the news papers, which will also get you a lucrative book deal and serialisation payment...also photographic copyright payments from various newspapers, TV stations and magazines around the world.

my hubby fixes consoles as a sideline to normal working hours, the amount we get a month depends on how rough the kids use them , mostly parents from school after friends have theirs fixed,
I make cakes, birthday mostly ( prices vary from £30 to £80) and cupcakes which are donated to the school, cubs,Sunday school along with my card lol i get a few orders this way,
Ive seen loads of people selling stuff they get for free from freecycle at bootsales or ebay

Thanks for that. I do fix a few consoles, but it can be a pain sometimes.
I can usually make more with a scrap console.

On a side note, I have just come back in, and there is coincidentally a programme on called "Super Scrimpers", on channel 4 the part I came home to was encouraging people to save a few 3's each week.

I made £38 this evening. Quite a good week.

hope its on +1 lol , we did start buying faulty dslites and repairing them, changing screens, casing, motherboards and sold loads before xmas, but now its just fixing dslites that have broken screens or cases, still charges £15-20 a time they buy the parts, this week he's had 3 so far, one he will do for free cos its my best friends boy but the other will get charged, the guy in out town who " fixes" them i use the term lightly charged £25 just to look at them

he had his first dsi this week too bit weary to take it apart lol
