im looking for some advice as my friend is very easily swayed by all the lights and glamour of the assistants. she suffers from really bad rosacea and never ever goes without makeup so never gets to try the makeups before she buys. is there a place online that you can buy samples of products or does anyone here work at one of the makeup counters that could supply small samples of products. shes very willing to pay for postage or sample costs. shes heard that smashbox makeup do a primer called adjust and philosophy do a primer too.
can anyone help or offer other advice.

shes sick of buying makup and then not getting the results she so badly needs.

....your friend.

She could keep an eye out on here for the freebies, but I'm unsure how often make-up comes along, or if it would be the kind she needs.

How about doing some googling for her to find forums made by/directed at people with the same problem, they would possibly know better.

yes
MY FRIEND

some people do have them and do like to help others.

if it was me i sure as hell wouldnt be embarrassed to ask for help as i thought that was the whole point here. i am a random person so what would be the point in me lieing.

i shall assume from your response you cant help her either.

thanks for that i will certainly keep an eye out.
ive tried to find testers even for sale on ebay for her but im getting nowhere, and not many women can afford to spend £20plus each few weeks trying makeups that are useless.

it seems you can try samples of cheaper brands no problem just not ones for more specialized treatments.

Neutrogena do a range of green concealer/foundation that helps neutralise any redness on your face. This could help underneath regular makeup. I'll try to find you a link.

just ask at the make up counters for your friend, Dermalogica is very good for her condition

John Lewis/Debenhams and House of Fraser girls are great at giving away samples

Yeah I'm guessing she wants more of the camouflage type stuff?

Never seen any samples for it myself.

Her best bet really would be to find fellow sufferers and find out how they go about getting the make-up they need.

Hope she finds what she's after :)

thanks for that, ive certainly not seen it in our local boots stores but ill see if i can track it down in the nearest city centre store. i know shes tried various and very expensive makeups but they all leave her skin looking very heavily caked. ive not heard her talk about creams though.

I first saw it in Superdrug I think but I've just checked Boots and Superdrug for you and I can't find it so I wonder if it's been discontinued.
Maybe go for the No7 one as mentioned above, you can't go wrong with them!

That is a fair assumption.

I got a few foundation samples from clarins in house of Fraser. They take some details but are happy to give samples if u ask.

Oh yeah, and smashbox do some lovely primers but I very much doubt you will get a sample as you can only buy it online, from qvc or on airplanes

qvc do smashbox and phillosophy, buy them and if she doesnt like them then return for a full refund

Hi I suffer from constant flushing of the cheeks and have found the Boots No 7 green colour corrector is great. I think they may have some testers of this if you ask them.

If it is true rosacea this can be treated with medication, sometimes has to be taken for many months. Worth it for the long term outcome. Make up useful in the meantime

Hi everyone, this is my first post on here. Sorry to raise an old topic but I found a company called Just Beauty Direct who actually do a Smashbox samples service, although you do have to pay. They do the 6mls tubes of primer for about £3 something. I bought all three to try and although I know I like the SPF one best I haven't finished all the tubes yet and I bought them over a month ago.
I am not sure how long they have been doing it but I thought it was a really good way to try the products and I got a sachet of the smashbox foundation free with my order.
