Man Utd have signed 21 year old Mexican striker Javier Hernandez.

Looks a good prospect.

Subject to a work permit, should be joining when the transfer window re-opens.

If he's any good he'll be off to Real Madrid in a few years.

according to wiki, he's scored 21 in 27 appearances so far this season for his side.

man utd apparently wanted to sign him now in fear that he has a good world cup and his price rises.

could be a good bit of business.

we need to sort our defence and midfield out, need another centre half, and two good central midfileders who can hold the ball and create something, we got great striking talent in macheda, diouf, wellbeck, king, these young strikers will flourish under rooney, berbatov, and owen.

berbatov teach a striker, jeez that guy looks like he's running through treacle half the time!

some of our good "prospects":
Nani
Anderson
Manucho
Obertan
Biram Diouf

I start wondering when will these prospects materialize?

I'd play Macheda any day of the week instead of Berba, he unfortunately is another good striker unable to cut it at Old Trafford. Just like Birtles, Davenport and Folan.

Exactly my point, im just highlighting some recent signings where the new player is hailed as good prospect when signed but never deliver .

give em time, look at ronaldo took 3 yrs to flourish, nani has improved massively lately, obertan is young, but he has raw talent, diouf he has the capabilities to be a great finisher.

Are you guys really utd fans, what do you want, instant success, then support chelsea or man city, fergie will build another great side, we are nearly there.

Actually, what id like to see is new players climb out from United internal ranks as the Giggs-Scholes generation did. Expensive new players should only be exceptional ones and for vital addition, just like Cantona & Keane. Seems Fergie does not believe in that system anymore now.

yep i do share your sentiments, but these only happen in a generation, it took us a long time to build a great team after law, best, charlton, etc, giggs, beckham, scholes came along after 25 yrs, unfortunately we dont have that talent on tap, we havent spend great deal on macheda, diouf, obertan in footballing terms, they will be the nxt team that will bring us trophies galore,

of course, my conviction is there undoubtedly... it's just nice to see if united invest more (or equally) in bringing very young talents into the academy. After all, most of our best players come from the system, which, as you say, show united as player maker not instant buyer

keep the faith, there are many years of success left at utd, as long as fergies there we will win more than lose, yesterday was a blow, but we will be back stronger.
Now i'm off to hate glazer and love utd:thumbsup:

end of the day, we got to to champs league quarter finals and were really really unlucky. we're still challenging for the league and have won the league cup. not a bad season is it really??

nani has played really well this season, and im confident anderson will come good.

manucho wasnt really a signing, we took him on a free to see what he could do and he didnt produce, didnt cost us anything. macheda is a top top prospect as is welbeck.

sir alex has shown a lot of faith in javier hernandez so will be good to see what he looks like.

the future looks bright.
