Bit of a long shot but thought I'd ask if anyone knows a man (or woman with a van) near swadlincote?

My GF has got a piano from freecycle but we need to get it to our house somehow!

It's only about 3 miles but won't fit in my car.

I'm happy to pay around 20 quid and it shouls only take about 30 mins I guess.

I'll have a look at the cards in the supermarket next I guess - there was nothing in our local paper which surprised me.

Cheers,
worto.

Oh and it;s not a grand piano just an upright one.

We have had pianos moved a few times. You need someone who knows a bit about moving pianos because they can be damaged if not treated correctly.

Very true... Moving a piano can also de-tune it... When i had my upright moved they had a set of piano wheels to try and avoid the damage...

Just be careful, hopefully you will know about pianos and push the string dampener whilst its in transit

Bretby van hire used to do short rentals dirt cheap... haven't used them in a while though, but as they are just down the road from you... or up if your swad.

cheers, just tried bretby van hire and they seem to be the cheapest around they do one for £35 for 5 hours, still a bit overkill but it's better than the £46 our closest ones want.

I'm still hoping to find someone who just happens to have a van on thier drive and a spare hour but if not I'll go with Bretby.

Oh & thanks for the advice this will be our first piano so I know nothing about them at all they people we are having it off seem to know what they are doing though so I'll ask them about the string dampner thingy.

cheers,
worto.
