But they also want John Terry so it's pretty safe to say they haven't finished spending yet and they will improve the back 4.
#2
I agree, back 4 is a joke, I mean Bridge and Richards are not gonna stop the likes of Rooney or Torres.

hey

a strong offence is a good defence

Do you really think terry would leave chelsea even if offered 300k a week? no way. hes chelsea thro and thro regardless of money. Oh unless he falls out with mr abromovich then he has no choice but to go. Which i doubt would happen.

Man City are a laughing stock as nobody generally with half a brain wants to goto them

I know John and don't rule out man city. Things have happened that he is not happy about. 300k a week is enough to turn anyone.

Agreed, Chelsea are being a bit arrogant in assuming he will stay which has wound him up a bit I think. They would take £50m for a 28 year old with a dodgy back.

Actually, Mr Chelsea isn't as loyal as people seem to think.
He asked for a transfer request while Mourinho was manager and he's also been having talks all weekend about problems with Chelsea and the possability of moving if they don't resolve them.

I think Man City need some better defensive midfielders and no more strikers but it looks like they're not smart enough to realise this.

I think it's about time fifa introduced salary capping (including on bonuses, signing on fees) because these billionaires are ruining the game.
They're all coming over and looking at it as an investment, buying there way to trophies and hoping to make the money back long term from the fans by increasing prices and hurting the game in the mean time.

I think Chelsea would probably be crazy not to sell John Terry if they get an offer of about £30-35 million.

He's been a great servant but there's only so many times you can patch him up and there's been a steady decline in his performances since 2005. He's still a good player, but over the last few seasons Carvalho has been the more important defender imo.

I think with Ivanovic, Alex, Carvalho and another defender bought in for about £10 million, Chelsea wouldn't be much weaker.

I don't know if it's arrogance. Chelsea have done a lot for Terry's career, like making him England captain. He's a good player without doubt but Claude Makelele, Ricardo Carvalho and Petr Cech made him look 10 times as good.

It's not coincidence that since Makelele left and Cech and Carvalho had injury problems, Chelsea's defence has suffered dramatically.

I think Terry will go to Man City, I also think Man City will be in the top 6 possibly top 4 come the end of the season. If they are anyhwere near come Christmas I think this summers spending spree will seem like chicken feed once the winter transfer window opens.

Money buys you success then?

Not the way i look at things. It can help but no buy success. Look at chelsea for instance.

The way i would build a team is from back to front... ie.. defence to forwards. Teams that jump out the bush and rush for strikers such as man 5hitty+real madrid will never get success instantly which is what they think will happen. Although real have the foundations of a overal bigger team than man 5hitty so that helps.

i think man city owners just want to see some sexy attacking football. Thats all good but they will let in goals.

So money can buy success, so long as you buy the right players....

+1 trillion, i personally think we should go 1 further, go all NBA, NFL, NHL on their ass, no buying players but rather trading within the allocated salary cap room , it would bring back so much of the passion

No i dont believe thats true

you need players that are not there for 200k a week, Playing for money... You need abit of passion in them. Plus you need a backroom staff that are half decent including decent manager which hughes is not.

Chelsea cannot win the champions league with some of the best managers in he world. Its hard, man c wont hve amazing success anytime soon.

That might be true, if you completely ignored the fact that Chelsea came very close to winning the Champions League, losing out only on penalties.

That wouldn't be workable for so many reasons.

Lol at you lot :)
Cos it's not a "top 4" spending the large, you won't a salary cap and are complaining?
Was ok to spend £30M on Rio many years back now, similar for Veron (twice if you include onto Chelsea). The list is endless.
But cos City do it, you're all complaining, tis the end of the world?
Class :)

I think people are more likely to believe him than you, tit!

I think City have a good chance, anyone know how I can be kept well updated on the Spanish league as I'm really interested on how Real do next season?

nice to see all the local riff raff now having a pop at City now that we have a few quid to spend, I wonder if they would be bleating so much if their club had investors who see the potential in the club, manager and fans ... anyway

Very good point, also Utd wouldn't have got the £80M for ronnie either.
#32
Thing is too, before Thaksin took over, City won nowt have done since but our debt was some £30M but now we have no debts since they have been paid off.
Look at the top 4 and many many other's
How much debt they all in and they want a salary cap?
This gets funnier

Man ****** fans getting it all wrong again...

Im happy for you to spend the money you are and getting all the gd players to the prem.

My question is why have 8 strikers and run out to try get another?

I think it's far more likely that you don't understand the implications of EU labour law, and the simple difference between the NCAA/NFL/NBA structure and the worldwide structure of football.

That's twice you've used that term to avoid the sweary filter in this thread. I've reported you, a 2nd time. I am still waiting for your answer to which team you support......What does it matter how many strikers we have, why you bothered? We can have as many as we can afford to have if they wanna come, so, lets buy some more.
(note tongue in cheek reply, but seriously, why do you care?)

As a Villa fan I fear that if the top 4 (whoever they may be) are owned by super rich owners then the second tier of the premiership Villa, Everton, Spurs for example will never have the chance to win the lague will they?

Fair play to City as they are only doing what Chelsea have already done (albeit at a much quicker speed) I just don't see it being good for the game in the long run.

Although maybe these super clubs will soon move onto a Euro super league anyway.

i think your an idiot, i understand fully the implications of the EU labour law, and i know the differences between the american leagues and the football world seeing as my 2 favoutite sports are basketball and american football

ps the NCAA doesnt have much to do with what i was saying does it
