Manchester City owner Sheikh Mansour is to bank-roll an astonishing £500million spending spree to secure the services of the worlds most talented young footballers.

Citys global scouts have been instructed to compile a list of the best available players and provide a detailed breakdown of the financial outlay needed to bring them to England.

And a defence, the rumours are mounting the Mourinho is coming for £10mill a year but I cant see it.

I think sparky is a good manager, the team just needs to gel. They have some great defenders, they just haven't guite got it together yet.

In my opinion Hughes is a one dimensional, tactically inept dullard but what do I know, Im pretty sure if you gave most football fans infinite money to spend they could buy a decent team. Ill support Hughes til we end up midtable then he can go back to Blackburn

Good enough for everyone else !, If you'd watched them ship 3 goals against Bolton, or two against Hull you wouldnt be saying they were good, Micah Richards is awful and so Is Wayne Bridge, Lescott is average.

As I have just said, give any football fan infinite money and they could throw a team together that can only attack and can draw 8 games against average teams. He's not the worst manager in the world but he's well out of his depth

At the moment I am happy with our league position but we are on a knife edge and really we are still in contention for fourth only by the grace of god. We need a left and right back for starters.

Richards has lost form, that happens sometimes. Few years ago he was one of the best young defenders around. I'm sure his form will return. As for lescott being average, i don't think so. Rome wasn't built in a day and the statement that if you give any manager that money, they can build a decent team, thats totally wrong. Many many managers have had loads of money to spend and totalled cocked it up. Look at real madrid a few years back. Liverpool when souness was there. He had loads of money(it was loads then), total pants. You can buy the best players in the world but it takes a good manager to get them to play together.

lol, 100% my ****, do you actually watch him saunter casually back after surging forward ? Or Wright phillips having to defend for him ?

He cant cross, he rarely tackles, he doesnt track back, he has no positional sense and he's lazy. Apart from that he's world class.

No he was an average defender in a very poor City side, and was carried by Richard Dunne. Then he was picked by McClaren who famously achieved absolutely nothing for England and was never picked again Sadly by then he'd belived his own hype, got a stupid haircut, started kicking about with another **** defender namely Titus Bramble and went from average to **** poor. Im sick of hearing this 'lost his form' ********, you dont lose your form for two years !!!

I agree should have kept dunne, mistake there. Very under rated. I think Richards might come good though, but is he your only gripe? Most sides have a week link.

Believe me, I was no fan of Richard Dunne !, average at best but served the club well, he needed to go.

As I say, Bridge is a poor player, he NEVER puts a tackle in at the crucial moment. Lescott is proving himself to be below average at the moment but Im still prepared to give him time to sort himself out.

Ones things for sure, £24 million for fourth choice England centreback is a ridiculous price. I think if we replace Bridge and Richards with a couple of world class players we could have a team that will be a major force. Saying that, I dont think Adebayor is going to be a long term answer and Santa Cruz certainly isnt, Adebayor has been invisible since he came back from suspension and really need s to start doing the business again.
#25
the problem is the world class players you talk of wouldn't come to city at that point, not hughes fault.

He can go to Villa and play with his old mate Dunney for all I care, good riddance !, Hughes recently gzave him the vote of confidence, the same one he gave Dunne just before flogging him to O'Neill......

Weren't you the one who was saying no-one would buy Manchester United just before stories started appearing about a far-east consortium being interested?

Anyway, if the mirror story is true (which is probably isn't) then it's good news for the Premier League.

We'll take Richards....

Although we cant afford him nor would he want to :-(

I knew you'd dismiss me making you look silly as 'trolling'. In fact, I didn't need a response - just wanted to point out that you don't know a huge amount about football beyond what you read in the Mirror:thumbsup:

Starr - I hope Richards goes somewhere in the January window because he has all the physical attributes needed to be a top player.

He just needs to be in an environment where he isn't the 'big dog' and he can be brought down to Earth a little bit. He can still make the World Cup Squad.

whats all this about a 1 billion quid united takeover from thailand......funds are waiting just gotta wait on what the yanks are saying
