Mario Kart Headache

Ok so I finally took the plunge and went on line to test my mario kart skills out against the rest of the world. I'm getting seriously frustrated as even when I seem to drive the perfect 3 laps I end up at least 30 seconds behind the actual winner! Is there something I'm doing wrong? When I'm along side them they always seem to have some sort of turbo boost and speed off in to the distance leaving me to battle it out with some geek from germany. Can anyone offer some cheats or tips on how to speed my kart up!!

what i find helps is using manual drift as you get the mini boost by drifting and using b button. Also on certain tracks there are hidden ramps and short cuts but you need boosting mushrooms to get there as its off the track and it slows you down. hope it helps a bit....

Hi - Whats manual drift?
#3
when you have selected your character and kzrt/bike you then get option of manual or auto drift. manual drift is basically when u turn in to corners u press b button to jump into a drift then once u done drift u get a mini boost.. i know it takes a bit of getting used to.

nice 1 I'll try that out.

There are shortcuts on every track and each track favours different cars. Look for the racing line and sometimes its best to hold back at 6 or 7th place to get the better speed ups

Check here for a comprehensive guide http://www.cheatcc.com/wii/sg/mario_kart_wii.txt

I am a 9000 point player and dont use manual drift ;-)

also its sometimes pays to watch where they go as some tracks have hidden ramps which give u speed boosts!

i think its called stream lining, if you stay close behind an opponent you build up speed and then you overtake. u can see this as u get sparks/flames around yr character.

The reason your lagging behind will be ust due to the other players been better..

A year or so ago i got "into" mario Kart and spent hours and hours on it, (over 6,000 online races) -- last week i turned it on for the first time in around 10 months.. - and enjoying it again. - still got 9500 points..

It takes time to become "very" good at it..

Use you tube to get tips..

Hi All..

Please post your ID and we all can add each other for online game play if you wish,

Remember that both player's much register "each other" before they can play online..

There is no risk of just putting your ID on the forum as each player needs to accept each other.

When you go into the air on a jump try flicking the wheel or wiimote and it will give you a boost when you land:thumbsup:
