Just seen these in the vending machine at work with the England flag on - what is the difference between these and the ones in the black wrapper?

No they didn't.
First time they've changed the wrapper in 78 years.

Plenty of Scottish people will be supporting England.
And there's plenty of English people living in Scotland too.

Wel yeah, if you are in Glasgow and you see something saying "come on England" its shoving it in their faces a bit innit.

Thats not my point, theres also plenty of Scottish people who dont want it shoved in their faces just like the adverts on tv as it just comes across as showing off.

I go by the stereotypical Scottish idea that if Scotland were in the tournament do you think if Mars bars were sold in England with Scottish flags on you wouldnt get complaints?

Yes you have an issue.

The lucozade sport bottle that I bought in Home Bargains yesterday had a red and white top to it, in support of England and they have a competition on to win England goodies.

You need to get out more or take up a hobby and stop worrying about England..

Why? Why am I not allowed an opinon and others are? quite rude imo.

Anyway seems to be not getting to the point, I dont really care that products have England stuff on but I think its a bit unfair IMO as it just comes across as its ok to have English Pride and to be Welsh, or Scottish and not wanting to have no choice in buying something without English branding.

And I am half Scottish half English and lived about an equal time between both my entire life.

COME ON ENGLAND!

NO IT'S NOT!!

The Original Mars bar in "Believe" packaging was sold in the UK from 18 April 2006 until the end of the 2006 FIFA World Cup in July. "Believe" took prominence on the packaging ("Original Mars" appeared in smaller print) to indicate support for the England national football team. Advertising in other nations of the UK was tailored to reflect their own teams after the public condemnation, although in Scotland the "Believe" packaging was still used - causing negative publicity.[10]

I bet the people of England and the England football team will be so upset they won't be able to sleep, your really showing them..

My statement was not made for the people of england or the english football team, couldn't give a rats bottom what they think, it was in responce to Babbabooy.

But it's nice that you think so highly of my opinion!
#23
Haven't seen them here thank god! Did see them online either Tesco or Asda for a 4 or 5 pack and it stated the black normal packs were for Scotland only, special world cup editions were available in England.

Luckily, many Scotish people don't hold such a narrow minded viewpoint as you, and will be supporting the team that is part of their own Kingdom.

Is it a common thing for the Scottish to cheer on the opposition of England during football matches then? Or is just a small minority?

Everyone I know and in my family, when Scotland is on we always watch and cheer them on. I never want or hope Scotland to lose. Wales on the other hand lol

I can honestly say that I no know Scottish person, friend, family or work colleague, who will be supporting England.

Yip, it is very common, it's a standing joke up here.

I just asked several ppl at work and they all agree, none of them will be supporting England.

But why? I can understand the hatred (football wise) between England and Argentina, or England and Germany.. But England and Scotland.. I just don't get it :?

Oh it's nothing to do with football. It applies for any sport. For me it's because the english are so big headed about themselves. How often do you mention 1966?? And whenever Scotland does well at any sport, they are a British team. But when england does well at anything their english.

+1. And they'd never bother their backsides supporting Scotland if they were in the World Cup and England wasn't that's for sure.
#33
I wouldn't have a problem with England winning a game if it wasn't for the media. It's not English, England football team, etc that are the problem, but the English media. It gets rammed down your throat constantly. Every game will have some link to England in it. No player will be as good as Messi or *English player*. No player will have played with the same heart as *English Player*. Blah Blah Blah English Players. It could be a Spain-Brazil match and the majority of the comments will be on England.
#34
Seriously who cares how the Scots feel about the England team, were in it, they're not simples.

They'd deep fry it anyway.

The majority of the 1966 talk and the spam about Murray being British/Scottish depending on if he is winning or not is complete media rubbish. They seem to talk a lot of smack about many things.

I doubt very much most English people are of the same opinion as the papers. Some are, but I am sure the majority are the complete opposite of what you have described.
#37
Typical Scots, kicking off again, no-one is bullying you into the wrappers, don't like it, buy a Snickers instead.

I don't see any Welsh or N.I's in complaining do you?
#38
I think it is good to talk about this stuff, I mean if we cannot get on with our neighbours up north, and they cannot get on with us in the south.. Then really, what hope have we got with the rest of the world lol.

But unfortunately its the media furor that we have to deal with. If England were to win it and i didn't have to hear about it for the rest of my life i wouldn't mind.

Nobody's kicking off - its life as we know it - the great north and south divide or whatever, who cares?

Just keep your skanky mars wrappers out our faces
