Bars are free

(normal people go to bars too)

you would have as much success in an internet chat room or a pub/club tbh.

2 friends of mine met their partners on match.com within weeks of using the site. I haven't used it but I have used another successfully in the past.

altho i would agree, many people use internet dating now as they may of had past problems which has knocked their self confidence so its harsh to say stuff like that

I know a girl who had joy using that, think its been 2years together now for her so it does work, GL!

Well I don't drink much and I'm the only one in my small group of friends who is single, without kids and my workmates are all male really so bars etc aren't really an option for me, plus I live in a small town so I think sites are a great way for the shyer among us to feel comfortable with getting to know people before arranging to meet for a drink.

My mothers like.. past 10 partners in like 8 years been from internet dating - It never lasted, if you ask me there all losers anyway.

But shes like 40... and 40 year old men are strange.. whole mid life crisis lol
#7
There are other sites that are free to join. Although saying that doesnt Match give you 6 months free if you dont find someone in the first 6 months? Still I still prefer free! but then maybe Im not really as serious about finding somone as I think I am

Now that's a result!!

Yes they do give you your money back with the 6 month thing, but I didn't fancy forking out about £70 up front!! I only joined for 3 months, cos it's about £42 and quidco were offering £32 cashback too, so don't mind paying a tenner for 3 months.

And yes I do actually go out to bars and stuff as well, just not had much luck down that route.

My sister met her husband on a dating site, not sure which one though. As for Match.Com, my ex opened his credit card bill one day to find them charging his account for monthly membership - swears blind he didnt use them! lol

Wow, that is a good advert!! So you didn't mean any bad ones along the way then?! (From Match I mean, not life in general!!)

How long ago was that?

ive made a thread about dating sites as others have too, its hard, esp sorting out the wierdo's to find the decent, but hey the 'real' dating is just as bad, good luck :)

the rule of thumb is dont give too much info away too soon, just general stuff, and I did chat on msn which you can block people on, plus I wont normally email anyone who doesnt have a picture.
Dont let this put you off as I have made some great female mates and still speak as for love.. your joking no such thing

The Guy I'm dating right now is someone I met from match.com. He is the most wonderful caring, considerate, laid back, loving, amazing guy ever and I'm glad I decided to give it a chance.
