# Maths lovers... I need help!

6y, 2m agoPosted 6 years, 2 months ago
I need to work out the following!

Total: 45220
Pension (7%) calculated on: 38000 = 2660
Total - pension = 42560

Therefore: 42560 after tax = 31290?

Is that right?

Because it follows logic and reason and can describe the world around us. It is essentially just a language.

I know the tax part is correct, but it's the rest I'm worried about! Basically the pension is only worked out on the 38000 and obviously isn't taxable, so I'm presuming I just work out the 7% of the 38000 and then take that figure from the total amount to find the figure that is taxed?

Also, are you hot?

It's a thread about earnings. I didn't say they were mine, it's just a question about pensions and tax.

I asked Ms Vordeman to confirm but she's busy making love to Big Rick

Chill Phil, was only messing about. I couldn't care less whether it was a bragging thread or not.

But still ... are you hot?
