I've just had a look at this -

We don't have one on our bed - what is the point of them? Do they work? Are they worth getting?

Ta muchly!

i was looking for my daughter - her friends got 1 and she says it makes the bed lovely and comfy

thought the argos one is a really good price

Is this a topper, or just a foam mattress (the sort usually supplied with cots / toddler beds)? It's 7.5cm deep, which would be about the thickness of the mattress on my youngest's bed.

i got a memory foam matress topper rather than a full memory foam matteress, I swear by it and its a hell of a lot cheaper.

I have a feather one, it keeps the warmth from going through the mattress.

The topper in the link is for cots.:-(

I was dubious, but have one now, they're great

so which do you think is best then?

memory foam
feathers
normal material

I have a memory foam mattress topper bought from poundstretcher, it makes for a lovely nights sleep and is very comfortable, although i could do with something to keep it in place, as it slides about a bit. I bought this after a recommendation from a friend who also suffers from back problems, and she swears by it too! I was very nearly sucked into buying a full memory foam mattress, but the topper does the job much better, as my mattress was relatively new to start with!

Good, i tried one in a bed shop. Cant touch a good quality memory foam mattress though

I bought this one recently and it's been great. I know it says children's mattress and looks really thin in the pic but it's actually a bit thicker than that and is a great price at the moment (for the double, single is sold out just now).

I have a matress protector on my bed as you sweat 1 litre every night and it protects the matress, also got a matress topper which makes the bed more comfortable,
