"A McDonalds employee who was shot while protecting a woman at the restaurant has been dissed by the burger chain. Nigel Haskett, 22, was working his shift in Little Rock, Ark. last summer when a man came in and attacked a woman. Haskett jumped between the two and tussled with the man, forcing him out of the restaurant. But he returned inside the store with a chest wound after the suspect shot him. Haskett survived and underwent extensive medical treatment. But Mickey Ds refuses to help him with the expenses, saying his injury occurred outside the realm of his job duties. A police spokesman describing Hasketts actions says he literally came to the womans rescue. The owner of the restaurant where Haskins worked has said hell cover the heros bills with his own cash."

It's the insurance company, not McD's that refused the claim - in fact Ray Nosler, the owner and operator of the McDonald's restaurant, released a statement this week saying that "McDonald's supports [Haskett's] claim."

what do you expect from a company that threatens the kids of a man giving out warnings about the effect fast food has on your health
#12
Awful that he should be treated in this manner by such a huge company that could easily support him and be the better off for the positive media attention.

...its also a nice little reminder that although the health care system in the US is touted as the best in the world, that only applies if you have enough money......
