Too dear I paid £379 for (2) but £379 each and the panels they use for studio 15 are flawed and flicker. Avoid Hell computers

250 gig less Hd in the 2 I got and 2.0ghz dual core cpu which was better than core2 on many things but has no hardware virtualization as well as 1 gig less ram but those things do not warrant over £200 extra

Have a good look around as there was a one with the latest Intel cpu for the same money if not a little less on here in the last few weeks

Stupidly overpriced. That's close to I5 money.

Im looking too but I'm only willing to pay £500 for that kinda spec and I would want ddr3.
Acer laptops look pretty good for spec but I'm put off by their quality.

Heres summit you can compare/look at aswell -

if that is a good deal then would the one i posted above not be good? better processor, bigger hardrive, bluetooth and 1 year hardware support on top of 1 year standard warranty? im so confused. i thought the one above seemed really good but no one else seems to, lol.

It depends what your needs are really, imo the processor is not that important as long as it is reasonable, hard drive is up to you if you need the extra storage, the blutooth is a non starter as it can be added for less than a tenner.
I'm more geared towards a gamming laptop for my son so we may have different needs thus for me a ddr3 and a good graphics card are more important.

btw I'm not saying the one I suggested is better or worse :)

what is the difference between ddr2 and 3? i have been looking on the cpu benchmark website where it rates each processor on a point system, i thought having the best processor for the money was the important thing to make sure computer runs fast? basically he will be using it mainly just for surfing the net, playing the little games on facebook and storing some music and photos (not excessive amounts). he is very impatient when things dont load quickly and the one he is using now goes very slow even when playing cafe world on facebook, lol. im soooo confused what i need to get!
