Mechanic advice on renault scenic please . . .

Hey all, I just put a deposit down on a Renault Scenic 2002 plate, it has only covered 33,000 miles so its only just run in.

Anyway, on driving it, it drives perfectly, but for example when I put my foot right down, it is making a low sound as if I have an induction kit on it??

it only does this at full throttle, it may be normal I dont know.

Any ideas?

Well I dont know, I dont think its much to worry about but I dont think they will tell me anyway, you know what car sales men are like. It sounds right to be honest, unless there is a small hole in the exhaust.

check the air filter is secured down properly, if its not you could get the induction roar from that.

Lol at buying a Renault Scenic, Their terrible and unreliable and made of cheese.

It could have holes in the air box or letting in excessive air in somewhere, Could be air filter?

Could be throttle control valve.

But most probably an hole in the exhaust somewhere, Probably at the joins.

Could be a loose/perrished hose around the air inlet.

I would have said 'It's french, an induction sound is the least of your worries'

As said though, check the air filter is secure. Although, from memory its in a pretty weird place right at the back of the engine so closer to the cabin than in most cars so maybe the sound is normal. Only the french....... :p
