Medal of Honour woefully short campaign.......

I have just completed Medal of Honour on the hardest difficulty in one sitting :( Has anyone else found the single player campaign to be woefully short? I won't talk about any spoilers, but it is quite a romp most of the way thorugh although it stutters in the first few levels and then starts ramping up in fun right through to the end.

Its a shame because although a good game, it really needs to be 1/2 as long again. Also it is very disappointing in this day and age with the likes of Call of Duty that there is no split screen, or system link multiplayer options........ No co-op campaign or anything similar is IMO an immeasurable oversight. When will the 'next-gen' games ship with 'next-gen' improvements...... if anything split screen gaming on modern consoles is going backwards. My 15 game N64 library has more split screen games than my 60+ 360 & PS3 games collection.

What does anyone else think?

I read in a review that the single player was virtually non-existant and it was basically just BF: BC 2 online so i passed.

one sitting! Did you start playing at 5am?

I've read reports which put it at between 4.5 and 7 hours. I trust both sources so I suppose everyone's mileage will vary. Personally I'd rather have a great 5 hour adventure than a 10 hour campaign which is packed with filler.

Also, PS3 folks who buy the limited edition, also get Allied Assault to go through, so that convinced me to go for a day one buy.

Thanks for the heads up though. :)

I haven't played it yet, but that is disappointing if its as short as your making out. However, I'm not overly bothered, as it will still keep me occupied for a bit. I've also found/seen a lot of newer games seem to be a little on the shorter side? I don't think I could hack a game taking up a year of my life though..

Can't say I'm fussed about the split screen/co-op stuff either, as I would probably get annoyed, I'm too 'in the zone' much prefer playing alone.

..you said it's still rather good tho! so hasn't put me off :3

I cannot answer that here!

What surprised me though is that it was built on the Frostbite Engine, a la BFBC. I haven't read much blurb before hand about this game so I went in blind, but that was a pleasant surprise although the destruction isn't anywhere near as necessary or as frequent as it is in the BFBC games. All in all its a blast though for the 5ish hours I was playing it. I'd advise it as a rent for people who won't be going online and as I will be, I shall be purchasing it on launch day as at least from what I have played so far, the multiplayer looks like it could be a bit special.

Because he wants an original one as well i'd imagine. The ISO has been around for a little while now.

#13
lets just hope I get the SSV2 files on Thursday, not that it will make a great amount of difference, because I believe it's going to get banned on the kinect dash launch

played it for 4 hours last night and think i'm about 3/4 way through.
single player is better than bfbc2 but not as good as the mw series.
still undecided about buying for online though, will be waiting for some reviews before deciding.

I hate this trend of awful short single player on games now. I wish games had single players that took forever to complete like they used to (Far Cry etc.).

Agree

Longest game iv played on latest gen of console is fallout 3, ( i think that game had 50+ hours of gameplay not to mention the other stuff you could do )

Really?? The graphics are a bit ropey then for Unreal Engine 3, I assumed it was Frostbite for single player (apart from the logo appearing on start up) due to the fact that the destruction system and graphics are pretty much in the same vein as BFBC 2, just not as good for the most part. To me it doesn't look at all like a UE3 game whwhatsoever

I'm surprised about that Alfonse. Really didn't once think, hang on this isn't Frostbite its UE3!!! I'll have to go check again tonight! :) I am a bit of an Epic fanboy, so i am a little appalled I didn't pick up on this!
