Does anybody know what on earth you've got to do to get extra points for a council house transfer? my daughter was admitted to hosp for asthma which can be made worse by damp in houses. The doc wrote a letter to the council saying that the room was damp and i need to move but for some reason the council won't award me the medical points??? what have i got to do to get these medical points??? Any ideas or experiences by people?

Seen this one before.

My guess is the Doc has never seen the house and the Council obviously don't believe him.

Doctors do this all the time, it's very unprofessional. Fact is everyone knows they've never been near the house and know sod all about dampness in housing, but Doctors think they're Gods and everyone must therefore obey. Makes me laugh.

Here's a thought OP - have you had the house tested by a professional for dampness with a Protimeter (device they stick in the wall).

my council dont do points anymore just band you into four groups. if no joy regarding dampness ask them to come and do a inspection and bring a damp meter if not get the enviromental health to investigate (they will be another department at your council which is a bit ironic!)

Medical points you say?? Become an alcoholic or druggie and you will get everything going, seems to be the way it works nowadays.
