When i went on my honeymoon 3 years ago, i stayed at te full moon resort. Was lovely. The only thing i'd recommend is spending a few days at on island and then another few days at another.

How come?

Does it get boring staying at the same place for a week or 2?

yeah i stayed at full moon for 8 nights when i went...and by the 5th night we were kind of getting bored. there's not much to do on the islands normally, except for the excursions. and its nice to break it up aswell.

A friend on mine went to maldives around the same time as us and they spent 10 nights (5 nights on one resort then 5 on another) and they said it was good cause around the 5th day they had done/seem everything the island had to offer

The fact you spend all day and night on here, suggests its anything but. Fortunately, I know you're in Liecester and just trolling.

It looks a lovely place and I have to admit, I wouldnt mind a visit to the Maldives.

I'm guessing it all depends if its a "real" honeymoon and really do want to be on your own for 2 weeks!!!!! :w00t: That said. You do want a relaxing location and I dont think you'll get much more laid back than here!

The pictures do look amazing and as always i'm using tripadvisor for the reviews etc.

It's not cheap, but as a one off maybe it's worth it.

Yeah, i see what your saying.

Once you have snorkelled for a bit, walked around the island etc i'm sure it could get boring but i don't know whether i could be bothered to pack up and move to a different island.

When I went on honeymoon last year I did 7 days in Dubai and 10 days in the Maldives. Split the holiday quite well but wish I just did the Maldives.
I stayed at the Conrad Hilton.

This hotel has much more restaraunts and bars than some of the other resorts and the food was just amazing. Lots of things to do and we did not get bored once.
I would recommend this resort. It's won best hotel in the world and if you go you will see why.
Again not cheap bet well worth spending that bit extra.

Thanks all for the replies and info.

We were seconds away from booking it yesterday, had it all sorted, flights via dubai, 2 weeks at meeru in a water jacuzzi villa but we hadn't really given the weather much thought.

And after a brief chat with the missus and a chat with other people in the travel shop who had been in july this year, we have decided against it !!!!

They only had 2 days of sunshine, the rest was rain.

So theres no way i was forking out £6.5k to spend 2 weeks in the rain !!
We both love the sun and i know if we had of gone ahead with it and it rained the whole time, we both would of been depressed and really disappointed.

Such a shame because it looked and sounded fantastic :-(

Yeah I wouldn't reccomment going in July at all.

We were married in July but waited till December to go to Meeru for that reason.

Even in December (Just out of rainy season) we had a fair few days of rain.

Phew ....... exactly what we thought.

The thought of spending all that money and then opening your blinds to see it pouring down would be sooooo depressing !!!
