It's called ageing...must be nearing 20-25 years since his peak of fame.

Last time I saw him was hairspray at the west end earlier this year - wonder if he's got a sore throat tho?

Smith ended up seriously ill in hospital in 1999 after consuming more than 50 Nurofen tablets, the culmination of a growing addiction to the pills. He said at the time that the pressures of film work were a contributing factor, along with a desperate need to ease the pain caused by gout. Partly as a result, he agreed to sell Talkback, but Smith admitted to restlessness: "I said to my wife that I needed to do something to get me out of the house".

see what you mean... He sounds like he is talking through his nose.. and he looks like he doesn't have any front teeth. He looks like he is a heavy drinker and heavy smoker... and he fidgets all the time.. so has some problem... shame

Holy carp does he sound odd, sounds like he's talking through his nose and it's really hard to distinguish certain words.

May be ill tbh...

wow hairspray? Was it good??my biggest regret whilst living in London was never managing to get to the theatre

Yeah it was great ss.

Was a bit of a riot, one of my faves I've been to alongwith The Producers (Lee Evans and Nathan Lane starred)

Billy Elliot is one of the best ever tho

I am jealous now, Billy Elliot is one of my fave movies, I imagine it is excellent live!!! Oh and the Producers, Nathan Lane?! So jealous:)

Yeah Evans and Lane who were together in the hilarious film 'Mousetrap' did a limited run. Billy Elliot is just as good if not better than the brilliant film.

Some are really great while others are pretty average, like the last production of Grease earlier this year - sooooo average it was unreal, relied on unimaginitive ideas which all came across as 'stock to me'.

Some get a bit camp for me (Joseph n Technicolor...) but in the main it's good fun going into the city. I love stuff like Phantom and Sweeney Todd too (especially the Sweeney Todd film came out this year - fantastic)

Dirty Dancing was fun - never seen so many women throbbing like hell in one place before

lol, i like the classics myself, tho' those throbbing women sound fun!, what i missed out on through my own silly life choices i like to send my kids to, last one they seen in London was The Lion King, we live a long way away from the "good theatre" now, i.e. west end, but I always take them to the local playhouse, not the big names, but it get's them interested:thumbsup:

I went to the Lion king in '07 - missed out on the 1st act due to traffic on the coach journey :x

Mary Poppins was good, Sound of Music too - seen most of the best ones in recent years.

Dear to go though, like 40-60 a pop for one person.
