Errrrm i just tolder a member to either hit the report button or edit the title to *mods please close* and bazz has just pointed out you aint allowed to edit your first post, so please be gentle with the member it was my fault, i have seen so many do it and a mod just saying thanks and closing the thread so assumed it was ok

so after that long rabble of garbage above, what is the way to close a thread, just the report button, yeah?

I was under the impression that the first post couldn't be edited...maybe i'm wrong!!

I would just leave the last post as this is closed please do not post in this thread. Then if a mod sees it good, but members 'should' be able to see it is closed

Members can edit their first post. If you mean in fs/ft they still can but we are closing that down so they can only amend it. It's important to keep a record there.

I presumed you had the FS/FT rules printed out and pinned on the wall beside your computer, so you can moderate it accordingly...

have a look at:

(5) Editing of original posts could cause your thread to be closed or deleted, at the discretion of Admin or Moderators.

Im referring to people who have completely finished the deal, and members asking for something, then coming back and saying found elsewhere, please close

I know the rules.

The operative word is "Cause". At this moment in time it is not against the rules to edit the original post.

If someone in the case concerned wanted their thread closed or deleted, the "Closed or deleted" part would suit them down to the ground. :)

there's still a chance after completely finishing the deal, for something to be needed from the OP (I can't think of anything at the moment :-D)

I suppose it's always better to leave a trail, so a new post and a PM to the new FS/FT mod?

Ok, i will stick with the hit the report button, i just think it is less time consuming to edit title to ask for closure, especially when a deal hasnt been done anyway

bazzaric has not read the thread properly and is trying to catch me out in retaliation for his thread yesterday. ;-)

I'm just a team player saint... like to help where I can.

Editing the OP in any case should not be allowed...adding to fine. Add to and say, Items sold/no longer for sale

I was using Gary's online messenger, so if I needed to PM a mod I could see which one online.

But, it's offline for me now?
