Is a Micro Sd card in a SD adapter just as good as a SD card. Lets say both cards are the same class and brand.

Just wondered as obviously a Micro SD with adaptors can be used in more devices.

Thanks Gav

From the SD Card site:

All microSD Cards are backward compatible with electronic devices that are SD enabled. By using an appropriate adapter, the microSD Card can easily and quickly be inserted into any device that supports a standard SD or miniSD Card.

So yes! Will be buying the Panny tomorrow so I can use my existing 4gb microSD with an adapter.

SD cards are cheaper.

The MicroSD card might be slightly better, since they're smaller and use less power than SD cards. I looked, but haven't found anything to indicate that one performs better than the other, so I use MicroSD cards in adaptors for nearly everthing now, except for my HD camcorder where a 16GB MicroSD card was about three times the price of the SD version.

Ok, thanks. Main reason I asked is that Play.com have a SD card for £9.49 and a micro for £9.99.

So I guess I'm better with the micro.

Thanks
