Men who weep over sport.

lrahlrah

I my self don't understand why some people cry and make a big fuss over their favourite team or whatever losing a game or match, it's not like their going to gain anything or lose something, so let's hear your opinion.

Being female I don't get it either, I suppose its the same as us girlies who grizzle over films.

Maybe it's like those that cry over religion, wait isn't that what spectator sport is? oO

?. Not trying to offend you, but do some scientific research of the universe, and there are scientist who believe in the theory of intelligent design

Fundamentally it's an emotional release valve for pent-up latent homosexual tendencies.

The only time I weep for sport is when it's all you can tune into on the telly, weeping as I'm sick of it

Football team supporters are some of the most ridiculous groups of people on the planet, a couple of notches below church groups.

I nearly shed tears if I'm honest, It hurt but in other ways I was proud.

Are they not allowed to be happy when their team wins either? Its the same as getting bad news anywhere aint it?

I echo loulou on the female emotion over a film - its not real is it, but girls still blub or swoon over a Mr Darcy or that cr@ppy PS I Love You....

It's just a natural human emotion. Do you think they think "oh, I think I'll have a cry"?

Move on to something important op.

It's about brotherhood. You go to matches with the same guys, you grow up supporting a team, you travel to watch your team and throughout that you share experiences with people, some of whom may be complete strangers.

You invest so much into a team and you're part of a long history. You're doing what your father did, and what his father did and through supporting your team you're connected to them.

I myself don't understand what's so hard to understand about that and I kinda feel sorry for people who don't get to experience that.

Difference of about 2 million pounds win or lose in your pocket?

If you lost out on 2 million, you wouldn't be slightly upset?

Well put. Obviously priorities change over time but it does play a major part in a lot of peoples lifes - "you can change your house, car, job, wife etc but you CANT change your team"

I know someone in his late twenties who actually goes in a mood with people and doesn't speak to his Girlfriend etc when his team loses,I can't honestly believe a grown man acts like that over a game,he takes it so seriously you would think it's life or death.

i know someone similar. gets wound up very easily when someone takes the p out of his beloved man united. think he said one time that he wanted to kick the crap out of me once. personally i think he has anger issues.

It is simply a natural expression of emotion that at times is bourne of elevated tension and emotion.

Firstly men are told that it's OK to cry.

Then when we do, we can be called wimps.

At least it's not an emotion that is aggressive and violent in any way.

Perhaps if more men cried more often to relieve stress etc then there would be less violent behaviour in society?

    Now there is a thought!

    Woman - Flesh, bone, feelings
    Man - Flesh, bone, feelings

    Equal.
