I can't seem to find the message counter on my shiny new nokia 5800, I did google and I suspect there isn't one built in. I see lots of ones to download, but they seem to come with something called "python" not really sure what it is? I don't really want to start messing with firmware or hacking my phone, just a message counter that works.

Does anyone know of one I can download that doesn't need me to mess with my phone too much?

thanks muchly xxxx

just go to your message centre and it tells you instantly how many messages you have in all your message folders!

But that doesn't help me keep count of how many messages I send each month.

I'm on o2 PAYG and get 300 free text a month, so like to keep an eye on how many I have sent. I don't want to have to delete all sent messages everytime, and that would mean I'd have to make sure I don't delete them until the following month

Sent folder doesn't keep any more than 25 messages in there at any time, anyway. It doesn't have the facility you are asking about.
It also doesn't have smiley faces or suchlike, either.
In fact, sometimes I wonder why people rave about the 5800 - I don't think it's all that!

Well I have it as it was £109 lol

But I am slightly knarked at there not being a message counter, I used mine all the time on my old phone.

Rolling eyes or not at the end of your sentence - you are just plain rude. In fact, you are bloody rude and miserable git and I don't care what avatar you have. You just inject misery and arguments in every thread you post in. There, you can report me now. I'm off.

Ah, thought as much. Didn't really want to go down that route.

Can't believe there isn't one in the ovi store! :x

I may be wrong, if you send a black text page to o2, (if thats your network) to 020212, you get mins and text used.

Hope this helps.
