I think that we have all probably been sent or sent out a message (email/text/other) which was intended for somebody else.

I woke up this morning to a text message from my dad which read:

"Love you sexy have a good day xxx"

(However it could well have been intended for me. If so I think me and my dad need to have a talk).

So I was wondering, what messages have you sent and/or received which was intended for somebody else?

Funny you should say that. I literally just got one of those Christmas video messages you can customise with the persons name, from my Dad, with his girlfriends name on it. Not really sure what to make of that. Thankful it was a mostly generic message.

I've seen people reply to threads with something that makes no sense, and then they realise they've replied to the wrong one if that counts? :p

The fiance sent my dad a text calling him a 'pr¡ck' - he didn't take lightly to it, nor did he realise it wasn't meant for him!

Some chap in the London area sent me a couple of messages about having something ready.

It wasn't really understandable, so I can't really write what it was about, but he started getting aggressive when I replied.

I think it was written in some type of London/Jamaican/youngster/gangsta-text - but I'm only guessing as I've never actually seen any London/Jamaican/youngster/gangsta-texts - I just imagined that's what they might look like if they even existed.

Anywho, I didn't have his stuff and I wasn't 'dissing' him - and I told him so in the Queens' English.

Wish I hadn't deleted his texts - maybe someone on here could have translated them (maybe someone on here wrote them oO ).

I got a message from a guy that said "I think we should take the 7:15 train for our weekend" to which I replied "I think you might need to take me to dinner before inviting me away for the weekend" he found it very amusing and tried to spark up a conversation and become friends but I told him I was too busy looking after my 7 children and that stopped his messages LOL

A PA at work had a funny one.

She had just got a new phone and number then got a text from some one who she assumed was her boss at about 9pm at night asking her to come in at 7am the next day.

She arrived at work and there was no one about; turns out some one had sent the text to the wrong number; the second she noticed no one was at work she realised that no one there could have her new number because she had never given it out.

Turns out the intended recipient didn't turn up at 7am either.

She said it wasn't, but her phone is ordered alphabetically by surname...

Not a story I'm proud of but... In my much younger days I was dating a girl, she had lost her phone and was using her dads for a while. It was a weird relationship and we would both go off with other people but never talk about it to each other.

Anyway, I woke one morning feeling quite sensitive in my area after having prolonged relations with another girl I'd met after a night of heavy partying. I text one of my friends when I woke up "OMG, I think I've caught the clap off this girl" ...I instantly released I had sent the text to my ex's phone by mistake, she had handed it back to her dad the previous evening. (_;)

Sent a message to my boss once about how my boss was, yet again and as expected, late to pick me up for work. That was a frosty journey.

I received a text message from my (single) brother-in-law a couple of years back. It was meant for a potential online 'belle' oO

Yes. It was.

It made me feel both sick and ever so slightly proud at the same time.

I used to work with a woman who to be honest really smelt. No matter what she wore she really stank. Before anyone say it was her glands it wasn't she just didn't wash her clothes, body or hair. The thing was she had been taken aside may times and asked politely to clean herself up but it just fell on deaf ears.

Well to cut a long story short it was a really hot day and we had all the fan's on (she was on a different desk section to me) but all I could hear was "I am really sorry xxx" "I am really sorry xxx", everyone turned around to see what the Bev was really sorry for, it turned out that she had sent a text message slagging xxx's smell as it was very pungent that day but when she sent it she thought she had picked the correct name but she hadn't she sent it to xxx, who read it and just said that okay, no problem. Everyone else was cringing with embarrassment for Bev but xxx just didn't seem to know what all the fuss was.

Some people really do have thick skins. She would have been within her rights to report Bev to the management but she didn't.
