Strong rumours Kojima's team working on a remake of the first 3 metal gear solids in glorious HD for PS3.
I know it's only a rumour, but if you're a fan it's great news, just thought i'd share!
Nice!

I know mgs isn't everyones cuppa, it's a bit marmite. I love the stupid long cutscenes and the hours of nonsense dialogue, cinematic gaming at its best!

"PS3 Plans For Backwards Compatibility- Revealed"
(5 November 2010 8:50:00 PM by Robert MacNeroy)

'anonymous source' from Sony’s Computer Entertainment

“The industry’s best developers are ReMastering their best games. Prince of Persia, Shadow of Colossus, and ICO are just the beginning. When fans see what Konami’s doing to the Metal Gear series, and what Square’s doing with Final Fantasy, they’re going to be very happy.”

i think, if you genuinely enjoy videogames, then you must appreciate MGS.

I can appreciate the attraction to Hideo Kojima's (labour of love in) design & the implementation of his vision by the development team(s) at Konami, but after around three hours of "playing" (watching, mainly) "Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots" I decided it was not for me & gave it away.

I feel I am in the minority, but the announcement that "The Sly [Cooper] Collection" (Trilogy) was being released was more appealing & welcome news for something I had hoped for since the PS3 was available.

Re-issuing the earlier titles in the "Metal Gear" franchise may make the story more accessible to players that have come to the story later than others & therefore the HD collection will introduce more gamers to the achievements of the production/development/design team.

However, such a collection of titles may only sell to an established audience that already follow the series.

I don't think I could face going through all those cut scenes again, no matter how much better they looked.

I would love to see this happen. I never experienced the original titles, so it would give me the chance to.
I never experienced God of War or Sly Cooper, and i own both collections. Being remade in HD has given me the chance to play them.
I hope that line about Final Fantasy is true as i would love to play Final Fantasy 10 through again.

I wonder what sort of an "HD remake" this will be. Did anyone see the MOH "HD Remaster" on the PS3? It was **** terrible - just the original game, except running at a different screen resolution. Y'know, like the option PC games have been giving us all since 1986. No updated textures or effects or graphic engine or anything like that. Just the exact same game, but with a modified exe.

If it's the same for this, I nominate BG1 to go round and sort them out.
