I've got 1 console flashed with ixtreme 1.6 and an elite that is brand new and never used.

I transferred all my data onto the 120gb hard drive and have been using it on the flashed console. I haven't connected the flashed one to live for a few weeks now so at the moment it's not banned.

Question is, if i put the 120gb hard drive onto the elite and connect to live, they won't ban that on the basis of the saves on it will they? They only ban console that have been flashed, is that right?

I just want to make sure before i use the elite.

I don't see why people mod their 360's, too much paranoia involved.
#2
They DON`T ban a clean console cuz you use the hdd from a banned one.
Has been confirmed by them more than once
:)
#3
Hopefully they will ban the 2 of them :)

No problem :) And like I said, it´s fine.
Make sure you don´t connect your modded one to LIVE anymore!!!

You WILL get banned as your console is flashed.
No way around that other than staying offline.

yeah, no chance of that

they ban the mac of the console so hdd isn't affected unless it was hooked up at time off banning

Even if it was on the console when you got banned, it does NOT affect the hard drive.
It´s the console that gets banned and blacklisted/revoked.

Does anyone know if you transfer a banned hardrive to an unbanned not flashed one but banned console to a unbanned flashed one then the banned xbox to the unbanned hard drive it will be banned ?

It's not as simple as that, no offence but are you just assuming that from what you have read ? I don't plan to do it at the moment because of the bans but after that it should be ok with the release of new firmware

If you have a flashed console that has been on LIVE already you will get banned.
No new firmware will save you as you´re 99.9% on the ban list already.
IF the new firmware is good and does what C4eva promises, you will only be "safe" if you flash a NEW console. Reflashing your old one won´t help

If your console has been flagged you will get banned even if you put new firmware on it, people have put their back to original firmware and still been banned

ah right, apologies  it should be fine but you might have to reformat it as some of the data will have been corrupted

A hdd from a banned console will NEVER get you banned.
And as of now, no one knows yet if the new firmware (which doesn´t even have an ETA)
will be "safe" for LIVE.

No LOL
It´s not the hard drive that gets you banned.
It´s the flash and/or the "backups".

And...They´re talkin BS.
They had another flashed console then and didn´t use a new and clean one.
Microsoft stated many times that using a hdd from a banned console on an UNMODDED console
is just fine.

Yeah heard this, annoying really, a lot of wasted time on borderlands and MW 2, just start again I suppose a long and tedious prospect trying to get back to level 30 on borderlands :-(

thanks for the information

All the saves and profiles you USE on the banned console AFTER you got banned, will show as corrupted when put on a different console.
The rest is fine though

Hang on surely that cannot be right as only mac address eg console is banned not your xbox live service and saying as your gamertag/profile is youre xbox live service on that hard drive/official xbox 360 memory unit. M$ are taking that too far and someone ought to take them to the cleaners for doing that especially if you happen to take your hard drive to a mates house sign in with your profile on what you believe to be an unmodified console and then M$ ban that console corrupting your saves/profile etc. That's not on and needs addressing with someone taking M$ to task via a lawsuit for their criminal act of sabotage/ destruction of property

No it IS right and I´m sure they checked with their lawyers before they came up with this.
You can recover your profile just fine from LIVE for use on an unbanned console
but the saves you used on the banned console are locked to the banned console.
They did this so people can´t play with backups on their banned console and then upload the gamerscore to LIVE with an unbanned one.
So what you do offline on the banned console STAYS on there.
They also remove the install to hard drive feature when you get banned.

Fair point, don't see why microsoft corrupt the hardrive, as it isnt related to xbox live when you sign the agreement. But then again who's going to challenge microsoft in court over this when they're one of the biggest companys in the world and if they wanted to could sue you for playing illegal games anyway.

They do NOT corrupt your harddrive.
Any saves you use after you got banned on the console are simply LOCKED to the banned console (NOT the hdd) and can only be used on there.
All saves you don´t use on the banned console WILL work on any other console.
It´s simple.

When it's not connected to the internet they can't

If you don´t wanna use it on a different console you can use it just fine
on the banned console along with all saves!
No need to recover.
It´s only needed if you have used it on the banned console and wanna use it on a different console
:-)

This was taken from another forum, may be useful to some:

Quote:
Firstly, and most obviously, you cannot connect to Xbox Live on this console any more. This means no more game updates (aka title updates), XBLA games, marketplace content, netflix/sky player and so on. There is no way around this, all online capabilities are now disabled PERMANENTLY.

In all likelihood, your gamertag has NOT BEEN BANNED. When your gamertag gets banned, Microsoft sends you an email detailing why, if you have not recieved this email then your profile should be ok, to a certain extent.

Hard Drive installs are now disabled on the banned console. This means any disk-based games you have will no longer play off of the hard drive. If you attempt to play a game, it will tell you that it was installed on a different 360 and needs to be deleted/installed again. When you delete the game and attempt to install it, you are given a message telling you that it is not supported. There is no way to fix this, that functionality is simply gone from the banned 360.

The hard drive itself is left untouched - you can place it in another 360, even an unbanned one, and it will still work just fine. You do NOT need to reformat it to regain any kind of functionality. Any installed games will need to be reinstalled for the console you want to play them on. This is normal behaviour and happens when swapping HDDs on unbanned/legit 360's.

Windows Media Centre functionality is disabled. It is still possible to stream video/music content via the video library.

Your Gamertag may be corrupted. This does not mean your gamertag has been banned, you can recover it using any live-capable 360, however ANY ACHIVEMENTS YOU HAVE EARNED SINCE BEING BANNED WILL BE LOST. Your gamertag will be corrupted EVERY SINGLE TIME it is used on a banned console. This means you cannot use your banned console to play backups offline just to get achievements - it wont work, the second you put your profile back on a good 360, it will be corrupted and all progress lost. There is no way around this.

The same applies to game saves - if you access a game save on a banned 360, it too will be corrupted when accessed on a legit/unbanned 360! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! There is no way around this, either.

Your XBLA games and DLC will still be valid, however to play them on a different 360 you will need to be signed into Xbox Live. This is normal behaviour on unbanned/legit 360's as well. They may be corrupted and have to be re-downloaded if you attempt to access them on a banned 360. You can transfer all of your downloaded content to a new 360 here: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/support/system...ion/default.htm however note that you can only do it once every 12 months.

So, in summary:
Your Banned 360:
* Cannot go on Xbox Live
* Cannot install games to the HDD
* Cannot use Windows Media Centre extender
* Cannot be used to get achievements from backups without corrupting your profile

You cannot do anything about this, short of buying a new 360.

There may be more functionality disabled than mentioned here, things are still being discovered.

Don't take any updates that are not mandatory for xb live play

they ban the mac of the console so hdd isn't affected unless it was hooked up at time off banning

Incorrect!
#38
if you use a modded console on xbl with ixtreme 1.61 or lower you will get banned for certain microsoft have it seems found away to read the dvd drives firmware which results in a ban. your hdd content is locked to the banned console. if you format the hdd and place it on a unbanned console it will be completely fine. IF YOU PUT THE HDD ON A MODDED UNBANNED CONSOLE THEN GO ONLINE YOU WILL BE BANNED BECAUSE OF THE DVD DRIVE FIRMWARE NOT THE HDD
