Migrating from Nokia to Android

I just got my HTC Desire and I am playing around with it now. I have managed to get all my contacts across and setup most things. However I cannot figure out how to transfer my text messages to it. I am using an app called anythg2sms but it doesn't work for me - java exception message.

Also, I need to get my Google maps favorites off the old Nokia too. Had a google for this and did not find any way to do it. Anyone looked into this or successfully managed to do it??

for the texts can't you just copy the texts from the nokia onto the sim (200 at a time) then copy them from the sim to the HTC?

Hmm good point. Old school but I like it ;)

Can this be done for messages in folders? e.g. sent, draft, plus custom folders??

don't know about other messages, i suppose that depends on the phones concerned. but i've had success doing it with samsungs.

I had time to try this tonight... Nokia doesn't allow you to copy from phone memory to sim. How frustrating is that??

Just to save another innocent soul from going through the same trouble; I used SMS Migrator from Android Market. Cost me £0.99. I used it with some csv files I created using Nokia PC Suite and the texts transfered no problem.

As for the favorites in Google Maps Mobile. I ended up just adding these manually. I logged in to my Google account on my PC and added each one as a favorite. Took me about 30mins.

Happy to throw my old Nokia in the bin now.
