Mike Ashley puts Newcastle up for sale.

Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley has put the premier league club up for sale.

He said in a statement that he had "got the message" from fans who have been protesting over the departure of manager Kevin Keegan.

Ashley, who bought club in July 2007, said he is looking for a buyer but warned Newcastle supporters to be patient.

Keegan quit after claiming his position had been undermined by his lack of influence over the club's transfer affairs.

Keane said he would walk if the same thing happened to him!
The panto club enters another chapter, at least Ashley got the message yesterday. 2 parties (foreign investors) interested already (according to sky sports). Mind it was some atmosphere yesterday, the protest was better than the footy

Shame really;

I am now a dad who can't take his kids to a football game on a Saturday because I am advised that we would be assaulted. Therefore, I am no longer prepared to subsidise Newcastle United.

I am putting the club up for sale. I hope that the fans get what they want and that the next owner is someone who can lavish the amount of money on the club that the fans want.

The footy was awaful, the xisco MCdisco was pooo! Ameobi the least said the better etc, still my highlight was singing "He's a dwarf a dwarf, it's plain to see to see he's smaller than you and me he's a dwarf a dwarf"

Nah, he's not welcome amongst us, he'll got back to being a spurs fan. What a week, Keegan will now come back no doubt. I just want this season done with, get Owens contract sorted and stay up. That'll do me. Selling Ameobi would be a bonus also

Not with all your debt

£250 million tops I reckon
#24
£450 million quoted in the press. I don't really care how much it goes for so long as the next owner(s) want to take the club forward, finsh 6th or 7th and a cup run.

There are no cockneys at Newcastle so how do you want out?
#28
Really going to bed now. This is how we work in Newcastle, Live 10 miles south of Newcastle = Mackem, Live 11 miles south of Newcastle = Cockney. Live North of Newcastle = Jock. Keeps things simple.

No, it was an odd match at the weekend, disappointing but showed that we've got sexy back!

Finally we're going to see some attacking football from the home side at the Boleyn!
