Milton Keynes query and eBay tickets query (Foo Fighters)

Howdy good folk of HUKD.

Decided I'm going to buy my first ever tickets for a gig off the bay of E. This will be for Foo Fighters on the 2nd july at MK Bowl.

Firstly, hotels are fully booked for this night anywhere near the Bowl it seems. How good are transport links from the Bowl to somewhere out of town. Is it worth doing anything in MK on the day or just going straight to gig?

Secondly, are prices any better closer to the time of the gig usually or should I be snapping them up or now. Even better if someone has a pair they'd generously like to sell to me at Face value :D

I paid half face value two days before the gig when they were at Wembley a couple of years ago.

Be careful buying tickets off ebay.

Other than checking for feedback and the usual eBay checks what am I looking for with gig tickets? i have actually sold a couple of tickets on there in the past. I'm wary of getting any that aren't in hand so that's why I'm thinking getting them in the wek up to the event.

Feedback and make sure you get the tickets with enough time to raise an 'item not received' dispute. Don't let it go past the 45 days whatever they promise.

just remember you need to have the tickets in you hand within 40 days of purchase otherwise you lose youre right to making a claim from paypal,

Ah yes I'm very familiar with this having lost out recently to this. I do hate eBay with a passion but it's a necessary evil these days.

OP don't buy them until very last minute as I sold them for around £100 for 2,2 years ago & then when the gigs arrived they where selling on the bay for around £15 each.

I live relatively close to MK and go there quite a lot.

If you are in to shopping check out Centre:MK, its a pretty huge shopping centre. Lots of different shops etc...

Xscape is pretty decent too, has bowling, a cinema, awesome ski slope and loads of restaraunts etc.

Depends on what you are in to I guess...

Personally I wouldnt walk from the train station to the bowl as its quite a distance, taxi's may be easier.

Thanks, the OH will probably want to go shopping. Anywhere nice to eat that's not a chain restaurant?

Not that I can think of I am afraid.

MK is the capital of consumerism, I dont think I can think of one independant Resturant or shop in the whole "city".

There's a buffet restaurant called red hot world buffet - does some of every type of cuisine commonly found in a restaurant, includes salads and puddings. £9 for lunch on a Sat for as much as you can eat. Might be a bit too chain restaurant for you though - website http://www.redhot-worldbuffet.com/milton-keynes/

Thanks but I should avoid an all you can eat if I'm to be moshing with Dave.

Bit concerned that these tickets that go for next to nothing in the days before the gig on eBay may not be that cheap. Just looking on eBay at Take That tickets as a benchmark and for tomorrow night they're going for a fair bit above face value.
