MINI COOPER & ICE = :-( .... Help!

With all the snow and ice a couple weeks ago i was driving down a back street cul de sac to turn around - looked pretty untouched no other cars. I tried to break at the end and the car wouldnt stop lol and i slowly slid into a lamp post damaging my bumper.

So basically i am after a new front bumper for a 54 plate convertible mini cooper - i think the term is R52 Mini.

Does anybody have one knocking around or know anywhere i could get one - i have been searching ebay etc... but no luck.

P.S. I need it in the colour RED!

Thankyou

You need to go on your local mini forums.

Direct from Mini? A Mini certified Garage? Or is it just second hand you want?

Take it to a Mini Main dealers, if you can afford to buy one, you can surely afford to have it repaired properly.

Save a few quid on bodging it, lose a grand or more off of it's value.

Hardly cheap in the long run.

Its a bumper change - the chances of 'bodging' are highly unlikely.

Dealers are ridiculous - was quoted £890 for a new clutch and fitting. I bought the clutch myself for £85 and got it fitted for £160

So its not whether i can afford to get a bumper from the garage or not - i would rather not be ripped off by the greedy dealership ultimately enabling me to purchase more deals of this amazing website.

Fair enough, it's your car, not mine, do what you like with it.

I doubt that you will find a used front bumper for a Mini intact, most have been crashed in to lamp posts.:p

Sounds to me like you did break your bumper at the end.

:) Obviously didn't brake safely, causing the break in the bumper.;-)

Doesn't sound too good if you had to replace a clutch on a 5 year old car.

I know, its crazy.
On the mini forums i came across people who have had to replace their clutches on new mini's on 20-50 thousand miles.

I have done nearly 80k so i was expecting it to go soon.
