minimum posts rule on freebie threads

im not trying to ruin everyones generosity, nor am i trying to be selfish but do you think we should have a minimum posts count rule on people giving stuff away for free, im not sure ow i feel on this matter bu it does annoy me that people who maybe have only joined after seeing these threads or being told about these threads get a chance for a free psp!!! when they may or maynot have no intentions on giving anything back to the forum, not in free items but any advice they can give or deals they can find. i dont want to defeat the object here but maybe it should be tht people who care about this forum should enter. what do you all think?

yep me and marky were mentioning this in our thread but its also up to the op right?
#2
i totally agree get fed up of people with No posts or under 20 asking for stuff all the time, let alone being able to get free stuff off other members good will
#3
Unbelievable.
#4
well yes it is i suppose, but it also seems unfair to all the other members at the same time and surely the OP should consider this
#5
just wait for the flood of multi's.
#6
maybe actually there should be minimum rep limit, as this shows better a persons dedication to the forum
#7
Its already had 850 views....

This is going to be entirely up to the OP to specify. It's up to them whether a member has to have a minimum post count / rep level before putting their name down on the list.
#9
Isn't it going to be a bit of a task for the mods to check if every new member isn't a multi?

whats the difference between it going to maybe a new member who really cant afford one for their child, or going to someone who has a high post count who will sell it on?
#11
I agree, but does OP mean Original Poster?

Because one member could start 5 new IDs, giving themselves a higher chance of winning.
If the postcount restriction is in place, this prevents this slightly.

And so could high post count members, it takes minutes to set up a new account and not long more to post 100 posts

Maybe a certain length of time as a member would be more appropriate then?

i dont really see any need for any of it really, the op doesnt want it, so has chosen to give it away
#17

That's what I mean, one regular member could have multiple accounts.
They're only freebie threads though, it's up to the OP whether they want restrictions placed.
#19
also sassie half the things that are on offer are not worth re selling for profit :)

yeah, sorry jb, i should butt out, but it always grieves me when i see greed rear its head:oops:

tht seems fair that the op decides, saves the mods a job

it really saddens me things like this someone is genuinely being generous and everyone is worried about the possibility of someone selling it on - me included

i have looke in most of the freebie/giveaway threads and there are a few people on all of them asking for their name to be put down just cause its free when it could go to someone who really would like it

i only put my name down on the psp one cause my nephew wants one for his birthday and hismom and dad aint got enough £££'s for it at the mo but on the thread you see people asking for it "even thou i've got one already"

sadly greed is an ugly trait and it rears its ugly head at times like this sad really

Can't they be kept in FS/FT, but have the feedback banned for those threads? Misc is getting a bit busy with them now.

i agree imo the whole site is overcrowded
