#2
lol - yeah could do with knowing what happened there?

Anyone?

worto.

edit - if it was a scam do I need to phone my credit card company - I'm not fussed about the 99p but am worried about the rest of my credit limit :-o
#3
i've ordered one too, i'd like to know why its been removed
#4
over zealous mods I reckon, there was nothing to indicate a scam? mods please reply?
#5

I think they're joking.
Some have confirmed on 99p taken.
Protx shouldn't be able to take more than indicated.

Check over on MSE forums where the deal came from:

http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=768859

Apparently someone's had £99.99 taken from their card for each one (and they bought ten)

that's what they said but there's no proof so would take it with a pinch of salt. Everyone else has had 99p debited so thats more realistic.
#9
I just called egg & they have an authorisation request for 0.99p on my account they have said I can't cancel or block it at this stage so need to wait and see what happens but they have only asked for 0.99p at the mo.

Maybe the £99 MSE post is a windup?

worto.

confirmed only 99p taken
#11
i've just called halifax. only 99p has been taken from my account. i have been told that if any more mony does come out i will be able to retreieve it.

I've got confirm emails from: http://www.wedodigital.co.uk/ for 1 at 99p, these are about a year and a half old when they were released. The newest is a Lucca 5.5 according to google

Paid by Mastercard just in case

How can they be a year and a half old when they were released?? Surely they were new when they were released? :p

hi just ordered one myself, went through mse and highwaytoheaven confirmed too, on their terms and conditions it doesnt say anything about misprices so fingers crossed its all good, i very much doubt its gonna pay out but you gotta be in it to win it lol
#15
More concerned by the fact that when some on MSE rang We Do Digital they coud hear someone in background exclaiming they haven't got any satnavs in stock.
#16
Hmmm

I checked out, they are quite old so I suppose they could be getting ride of a job lot.

This is only the second deal I have tried on here. I hope it is ok and not a scam.

I wondered why I couldnt find the deal again, I would like to know why it was removed though
#17
i did it too...................

wait and see
#19
I hope it isn't a scam, ordered one with my Debit Card!! Doh!!!

The deal was moved suspecting the legitimacy of the site which is owned by a private individual.

If its a scam, all they want is your card details and not the 99p punt :)
#24
Mods pulled it AGAIN, shouldn't think teres mnay left by now anyway.

Loa Tzu: I print screened both pages with details and price on, there mistake not mine. Have confirmation of order and payments too

Will see what happens

Is it still not safe, even though it went through a 3rd Party (Protex) ... should we all cancel our cards ?
#28
paid by debit card!!!!!!!!
Just called Lloyds freephone and got full identity theft and card protection for a month on special trial for £1.... better to be safe!

PS: confirmed that 99p was taken from card:whistling:

As lao pointed out: http://www.out-law.com/page-429

Do they have to honour it at this price then ????. As I said it isn't the newest model (Lucca 5.3) so maybe they were using it as a carrot to shift some old stock ???

Backfired maybe :?

Possibly, but I don't recall a single misprice (on here at least) ever being honoured, no matter what their term do or don't say. The law is on their side on this one and it was a very obvious misprice, not £10 out on a £100 item. Waste of time fighting.

I ordered one, I think it is a misprice, and I think it is a small firm, so I think I am unlikely to get the item. I am not so sure it is a scam, because they use Protx for credit card details. I don't think Protx release card details to the seller, they just process the transaction.

At the moment I can't even get the homepage http://www.highwaytoheaven.co.uk/, so I think someone who runs a small business somewhere is throwing a major panic. Dell and the likes can weather a misprice, but not a small trader with half a dozen sat navs and 3000 x 99p orders! I expect at the end of the day I will get a refund. Good post though! :-D

If it is a genuine mis price you have to feel a 'bit' sorry for them, this is going to take LOADS of time for them to sort out. About 5 hours worth of online sales !!!!!, they should have a system in place on their website to alert them :whistling:

I have one of those, it's a lump of cow crud suspended over a fan right in front of my face, if the alarm goes off my USB scissors cut the string.
Works really well and helps keep me awake.

We represent HighwaytoHeaven.co.uk

Regretfully, we are writing this post to confirm that the £0.99 price was incorrect. The highwaytoheaven website ceased trading 3 - 4 months ago, and we can only presume that a bug in our Content Management System has enabled the order to reach the checkout stage.
Please accept our sincere apologies for this error, the confusion, and the high level of inconvenience caused by this.

We are now in the process of issuing full refunds to each and every customer who has placed an order on the site within the last 7 days.
The refund will be issued directly to the card with which payment was originally made.
Over 600 orders were placed in the last 24 hours. Refunds will be issued beginning with those orders placed earliest.

Once again, we would like to offer a sincere apology for the inconvenience this has caused. We would like to reassure all those who placed an order that a full refund will be issued.

Kind regards,
HighwaytoHeaven

got to be one of two things

1. Genuine Highway to heaven and they are trying to get out of giving their stock away by pretending its an old website (hence it now being offline)

or

2. A prankster on MSE trying to have a laugh!

not sure which is most likely
