Missing Disney Movie Reward Points - Anyone heard back from Disney?

kimbyanne Avatar

I went a little OTT with the Disney BOGOF promotion and got quite a few Disney blu-rays. Out of all of them, I have five blu-rays which are eligible for Disney Movie Reward points but are missing the codes.

I emailed Disney (using the link on the Disney Movie Reward points website) last week when the first one arrived without any reward code but have yet to hear back.

I have emailed them again tonight listing the five that are missing codes but it just seems a bit odd that I still have not heard back from the first email.

Also, surely Disney don't just take your word for it and give you codes, do you need to prove you own the blu-rays / DVD's?

Has anyone here had a blu-ray / dvd with a missing code and actually heard back from Disney?

yes most of them, but not heard back yet.....

says on the site they will contact you back within 3 days-I dont know where amazon and dvd.co.uk got their stock from for this offer but there are mutiple titles without codes that should have them!

plus the lack of slipcases on many titles leads me to believe this is not united kingdom stock.

Would that have any impact on Disney giving out the codes? I hope not, I am saving up!

lol-yes,Im saving up too-I emailed them cos I am missing SEVEN ! tinkerbell/bolt/cars/monsters inc/pinnochio/ratattouille and sleeping beauty-all from amazon, all listed on disney site as containing codes and none of mine do.

Im happy to have got em all for 6 quid each,so cant complain too much tbh but I will see what disney say-the american codes dont work on the uk rewards site,so you probably need to have bought uk stock so not sure what will happen-I suspect disney will be getting a few emails this week.

I think these discs are dutch btw.

What makes you think they are dutch?

because I have bought quite a lot of blu rays from various european countries and the dutch and scandanavian ones are all totally in english, box, leaflets etc. germany and france they are in french or german but the discs are still in english.

not all disney titles are released yet in scandanavia so my conclusion is they are from holland,or at least most of them are.

Hmmm, that could cause problems then. Will have to wait and see what Disney say, if they ever get back to me!

Ah well, at least you've got your films - I ordered 10 on the Monday and 9 of them are showing due for despatch 31 Mar-6 April. Maybe by the time mine turn up, you'll all have heard back from Disney so I'll know whether to chase them for any missing codes in mine :-D
#10
Mine are backlogged until mid April!! I also checked on the Cars bluray that I had bought previous and there was no code, emailed, no reply either...
#11
Ive not been emailed yet either.

Slipcases are only included with the first batch of each Disney title after release. I can't see that they are Dutch imports (or from any other European country) tbh - check on the back of the case to see if they've got the UK consumer contact tel. no. in the bottom right hand corner, I can't see that would be on imports.

With the rewards codes, I don't imagine there would have been any with Cars, Ratatouille or Chicken Little as the copies included in the BOGOF promotion are the original versions, and not the combi-packs which are shown on the eligible titles page.

The promotion started on 26th October last year, so in theory you should be able to request codes for titles bought since then (as long as on the elgible list) - I emailed them on Tuesday to see if I can get codes for Wall-E, Monsters Inc, Pinocchio and Bolt.

Have just redeemed my first 700 points for Underdog, as I'd noticed that Ratatouille and Dinosaur are already gone (I imagine the majority will go over the next day or so as the majority of orders turn up).

I redeemed codes and got underdog also. But i have tinkerbell 1 and walle which didnt have codes aswell as aladdin musical masterpiece dvd and sleeping beauty dvd if i get points for them like i requested along with the other three from amazon i should have enough points for another blu ray.

Any idea if Disney will add anymore blu-rays to the rewards page? I was going to get either Ratatouille or Dinosaur but seeing as both have gone, I don't have anything to spend my points on!

I don't know - the FAQs on the site state:

Disney Movie Rewards offers many unique and exclusive rewards, and some may be limited in quantity. If an item you want is shown as being limited in quantity, you may want to consider redeeming your points for it sooner rather than later, to ensure you receive it before our inventory runs out on these great rewards. Please know that new rewards are added regularly. Be sure to check back at DisneyMovieRewards.co.uk to see what's new.

I too went a little OTT on the Amazon BOGOF bought 12 (mixture of DVD/Blu) + UP and cars week earlier from Zavvi out of the 12 that have so far been delivered (10 on the eligible list exact editions) only 5 had codes in them which were;
Toy Story Bluray
Toy Story 2 Bluray
Up (2disc not digital download) Bluray
G-Force Bluray
Bednobs and Broomsticks

Now all apart from Bednobs has been released since this offer started (oct 2009) so I would guess that all this is just a stocking issue, Amazon and Zavvi and their suppliers probably just have shelves full of the discs that were produced prior to this offer commencing and they are just sending the old stock out first. Which probably means that for the first 6 months after the offer completes (oct 2010) every Disney title that you buy will have a code in it that will be useless. (just to clarify not all of the blurays I purchased had codes in them)

Did anyone else notice that all and only the boxes that had a "Disney rewards eligibility" box on the back cover had a code inside. Last night I had a look in both Sainsbury and Tesco both of which are doing the BOGOF on DVD and both are advertising Disney rewards, and out of the 10 or so eligible titles each on had only one or two had this box on the back (different dvd's in different stores) which once again brings me back to the assumption that it is just a stocking issue.

Now the more important question is what do we think Disney are going to do with all this, will they honour the offer or will they just claim that the only eligible purchases are those whose boxes have a "Disney rewards eligible" box on the back?

Neither my Snow White or G-Force mentioned the rewards on the back of the case, but did have the codes inside.

Disney should supply them, as long as you can give them proof of when (and from where) you purchased them. Still had no reply to my email sent on Tuesday though.

Don't think you'll be able to get a code for Tinkerbell.

This is the version in the BOGOF promotion

This is the version shown on the eligible titles on the Disney Rewards website

Disney are using the promo to clear out the old stock of a lot of the titles, which unfortunately aren't a part of the rewards scheme

pretty sure you have that wrong. the tinkerbell combi pack is NOT part of the bogof and NOT the eligible title on the eligibly movies page. the standard blu ray is eligible and part of the bogof offer.

again these combis are NOT shown on the eligible blu rays page. with these particular titles, its the standards blu rays that are eligble and also part of the bogof. therefore in theory they should have points in them

That's what I said :)

And on the eligible titles page, the Tinkerbell pic says Blu Ray + DVD on the front of the case

You can make it out in the outer blue border, above the movie title, where as the version in the BOGOF promo doesn't have writing within that blue border

EDIT: Same with the other titles (Chicken Litte, Cars and Ratatouille) - the ones in the BOGOF promo (Blu Ray only) don't have the new blue border on the front cover, where as the combi packs do (which are shown on the rewards page)

you make a valid point, like most i hadnt noticed that. HOWEVER the text besides the pictures of these title doesnt mention they have to be combi packs. the text next to the other titles such as toy story DO say they have to be combi packs. i think the website had made the mistake of not properly making clear that the eligible blu rays have to be combi packs

having said that my bolt blu ray from amazon is 2 disc and eligible but that didnt have the code...

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your email about our eligible Disney Movie Rewards titles.

Disney Movie Rewards began November, 2009 and included only select new release titles. Since then, we have included many of our Disney classics to be eligible for Disney Movie Rewards points.

Some Disney classics purchased prior to March 22nd, 2010 are not eligible for Disney Movie Rewards points. Please review the eligible titles list for your titles date of eligibility.

If your eligible Disney title is missing a code. We will be happy to assist you with your point redemption, please know that all point requests may be subject to verification and original purchase receipts may be necessary.

IF you have an electronic receipt of a eligible Disney DVD or BD title missing a Magic Code, please send a copy of the electronic receipt via email to our customer service at [email protected]">[email protected]. For titles missing codes, you may request a code for that title by sending the eligible titles Proof of Purchase tab to the following:

Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment

Same as Barky - you beat me to it :-D

I told them the name of the blu ray and advised it was on their list of eligible titles when I sent the email, so am assuming they just want proof of purchase sending. Sounds simple enough.....which means it's probably not that straight forward :-D

Mine bounced back too. I also have a Yahoo email address.

I think I am going to print off my order confirmations and post them to the address they gave at the bottom of the email.

Anyone heard anything or received their missing codes?
#34
I have finally heard back from Disney regarding the missing points. I sent them a letter about two weeks ago and had not heard back so emailed them yesterday asking for a reply.

I received an email today confirming that my missing codes from my Amazon order had been added to my account but they would not honour the codes for the DVD.co.uk order as they claim the Disney Movie Reward Codes offer did not start until the 22nd of March (I think, it might not be the exact date) and I placed orders with DVD.co.uk on the 13th and 14th of March.

Now, I am 99% sure that when I made my orders with DVD.co.uk, the blu-rays that I am missing points for were on the eligible titles list and there was no mention of eligibility start dates on any of the ones I ordered apart from Dumbo (as it had not been released yet). Disney appears to have added these eligibility start dates a week or two after I had placed my order.

I want to go back to Disney with this but I need to be certain that I am not imagining things. Does anyone else think I am correct or am I completely wrong?

Thanks
