How do you know they didnt receive it..

Recorded is a must for me!

So, you sent something that you have no proof that you ever sent, and you are seeking compensation? :|
#4
Yes you can do something about it OP.
Start on the following page and follow the links through. Make sure you read everything on the pages as you fill in the form.
If my memory serve me well they will also contact "tazandsaz" and get her to agree to the package not arriving.

Whether you get full compensation will remain to be seen and your case is obviously weakened by not having any proof of posting.

Right, here's where you start , question: My mail is late/lost :

Good luck OP, I've traded with taz a few times and she's always been totally upfront with me BTW :)

I did not recieve it and comments like that are not appreciated.

Ive had 3 or 4 things not arrive to me and ive been getting a lot of stick, why would i lie over a game or 2 and damage the good rep i have on here? its just not worth it for me. I dont know that the item was even sent to me, but i havent accused the 'senders' i dont understand people

Like ive said before tho, ill do everything i can to help get your compensation....

Taken from the Royal Mail website.

"Please note that we do not pay compensation without an original certificate of posting being produced."

Unfortunately you could be out of luck

OK, I've had enough time to wade through the the relevant RM stuff now and it looks like Newbie1001 ma be correct.

This has certainly changed in recent times but I can't find a date it was fully implemented.
Although it allows you to fill in an online claim it does in the end ask that proof of posting is available. I think all these changes have been done because of the massive % of ebay business and the problems that caused RM.

To the OP Sean, if you live in a rural area or are a regular customer at your Post Office you could try going back to them and asking for a receipt. How did you pay at the Post Office when you sent the game off ? If you paid by a traceable means, cheque or C/C, you just might have a better chance.

Are you positive by the way that they actually gave you a receipt at the Post Office because they don't always unless asked ??
(Note, this may be very important, think carefully!)

In any case I would try and find a friendly face at the Post Office or even ask to see the Manager as most of the time the counter people haven't got time to breathe.
Explain fully to them and see what they can do for you , if anything.

Hope it works out ok for you but must admit it's not the best situation.

Royal Mail's record on lost and stolen post is horrendous, they are obviously trying to clamp down on false claims, quite rightly to, but in doing so they should make 100% sure their customers know how to protect themselves, most don't.

Just to add that you can now download claims form (p58) and Certificate of Posting slips from this page:

I know it shouldn't normally be done but if you're sure that it didn't arrive and it was sent etc then you could send another of similar weight and claim that one never arrived. Obviously just send a brick or whatever, no need to send another game. Also don't abuse it, only do it for a genuine loss where you should have received compensation but can''t due to lost receipt etc.

So you are suggesting that seanbwfc and tazandtaz get involved in making a fraudulent claim?

That's why I said only do it for this example as it's mearly replacing a lost receipt for a genuine claim. I made it clear not to use fraudulently.

Surely, the brick that you are suggesting to send is not the item being claimed for? You clearly say that the OP has no need to send a game(The item actually being claimed for).

If you could explain how you are not contradicting yourself, it would be deserving of rep.
If you are wrong in your suggestion, just say now, and lets move on.

Why are you trying to start an argument? I suggested a way to get a replacement receipt, if you don't like it then just ignore it.

I think we are talking like adults about it, far from an argument.

Benjimoron
I suggested a way to get a replacement receipt,

I don't think you are suggesting how to get a replacement receipt, I see it as making a fraudulent claim. If you could explain to us how what you are suggesting is not fraudulent please do, it is only fair. :)

Not going to get drawn into an argument.

People can make up their own minds. Obviously it's on very dodgy ground but personally I see it as replacing a lost receipt, if people want to do it then they can, if they don't then they won't. It was just a suggestion, no need for you to get involved!

When the op then puts in a claim for the this new proof of posting then they will have to put what the package contained and it would be lying to say it contained the original game that is lost in the post. End of Benjimoron. I think that its entirely up to the op but what you are suggesting is in fact "fraud".

That's why I said only use it for a genuine loss. ie just replacing a lost receipt! Not trying to say it isn't technically fraud but if someone felt that it was a reasonable way of replacing a lost receipt then I wouldn't think anything bad about them.

no need for you to get involved!

Then, you should have PM'ed seanbwfc with details of your fraudulent activity.
