Hiya
I wounder if you could help me with my plight. We are with Vodaphone on contract and I have been for about 10 years and my hubby has been on the same contract for a couple of years. We spend between £100-£150 between us each month on bills. We have been put on 18 month contracts. One of them expired on Monday 13th August and the other sometime in October. Therefore we are entitled to a free upgrade on the August one. My hubby is a builder and each time we get a free upgrade he has to have it as his phone is always in a poorer state than mine. As he has now recieved the past couple of upgrades and is in need of a new one, I also need one as my phone is loosing its sound. I spoke to customer services at Vodaphone and asked them if it would be possible to A) put us on 12 monthly contracts and b) let us both have free upgrades. They said I will have to speak to the sales department and it depends on who I get as they make the decisions. What is my best options here? Can you help/advise? Cheers

BEST OPTION: Tell customer services you are leaving Vodafone.
They will transfer you to the retention team. This team will be in position to offer you what you want.
You can prove to them that you are a good customer and are pumping well over a £1000 a year into their company.
They will not want that £1000 going to Orange.

They will have to offer you what you want.
So stick to yer guns and you'll be fine :)

I only pay £25 a month with Skodafone and they gave me a Nokia N95 as a free upgrade. I did have to sign an 18month contract but thats expected as I pay so little.

When I phoned for an upgrade they said I would have to pay £400 for the N95. I said that's crazy as I could just end my contract and go with a new contract elsewhere. Then the customer services rep said that he was going to transfer me to someone who might be able to offer me the N95 for cheaper. I was transfered to the rentention team and suddenly the phone I wanted was free!

It's all about playing hard ball - Don't forget guys and gals you're giving this company lots of money over the space of the year.

So you deserve to be happy with your deal !

Rock on!
