I would warn everyone off the Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus. Problems with 'ghost touch'. Motorola's customer service is atrocious.

haha well.. last years (2016) only last years i owned all of the following:
ee kestrel
huawei p6
asus zenfone 5
huawei p8 lite
lumia 535
moto x
infocus m330
smart ultra 6 (x2)
sony xperia z (x2)
xperia m4 aqua
huawei honor 7 (x2 - second one briefly as was faulty so returned to seller)
infocus m560 (x2)
oneplus 3
alcatel idol 4
huawei p9

i bought the huawei p6 in 2014 used for about 18months, then battery swelled so sent for repair & bought the ee kestrel to use in the interim which I ended up using for about a year as well.
i then bought the p8 lite to replace the ee kestrel. i got the zenfone 5 for a good price it was the 2 gb ram version actually preferred it to the p8 lite, build quality was excellent felt premium and comfortable in hand but sadly the battery life was dire.
bought the su6 as i wanted to try it after all the hype was ok but too big for my personal liking plus hated the one color led notification.
the honor 7 was good but i needed to sell it on order to afford the op3. I'd resisted the op3 at launch from op direct but when o2 released it I checked it out in stored & liked it so took the plunge (unfortunately higher price point that at release).
infocus m560 is a chinese phone. I genuinely love it. ws using it as my daily driver april until october. build quality feels great, very premium & also very snappy. same spec as p8 lite but sadly (as i''m a huawei fan & had had 2 prior to the p8 lite) I found it very laggy & it just felt so plasticy :(

out of all the above i currently own:
infocus m560 (x1)
alcatel idol 4
op3
huawei p9

... i have no use for 4 phones lol but cant bear to part with any of them (HELP!)
i should really give the infocus to mother. the m4 aqua & the other m560 were meant to be for her but i managed to sell the m4 for a profit and needed to sell the other m560 to justify buying the p9.

i'd like to try a xiaomi (redmi 3s or redmi note 3) also currently interested in axon 7 & nubia z11 (& lite)

I just like shiny new toys haha.

Same, I like shiny new phones :D but I tend to stick to iPhones, although the OnePlus3T is tempting, and costs like half as much as the 7plus did :D

Thanks
I'm a little bias :D but I love my iPhone 7Plus (I came from a regular 6s, you forget about/get used to the size within like a week, although the new S range of Samsung phone should be announced soon so if you're gonna get one, I would hold off a few months if you can

My brother had an S7 edge, and personally I didn't see the extra value in the 'edge' but if we take RRP I'm sure the s7 edge is about £100 less than the iPhone, but if you want android, the one plus 3t is around £400 (64gb) The thing is a small power house :D

i'm actually really enjoying the p9. been using it as the daily driver since the new year. still need to completely adjust the battery setting/task manager to my app preferences & settings though which is a pain in the bottom. on the downside the op3 has been lying in a drawer since new year.

my other half has s7edge & i dont rate it that much, not that i've had much time on it though but personally not a fan of touchwiz.
would probably say on your budget the op3 , 3t . how much is google pixel in comparison? if you can afford the iphone 7 then i want to assume the pixel would be similar price bracket?
unless you're good with tech apparently the lenovo zuk z2 is good but it requires flashing a rom to get play store to work properly

Hi folks.

Looking to buy a new mobile and I'm drawn to the Moto G4/G4 Plus due to affordability combined with decent spec.

Could any former/current owners share their opinions?
#21
I'm in need of a new phone and no really sure what to get. currently got the lg g3, love the screen size and picture on it, ie 1440p for youtube. I never use phones to their full potential, and no sure what to get next? think I'll either stick with lg and get the g5 or the Samsung s7 edge, like the look of that lol
#22
Google pixel here. Absolutely love it. Camera is amazing. Very functional and user friendly. Still getting to grips with Google assistant, she's not very smart yet. Also having some issues with the Bluetooth, won't connect and sometimes fails to pick up other devices. Currently having the issue looked into. :)

Still got my trusty Nexus 5 it still holds its own against the latest phones.

Have tried several phones, almost every flagship.. so far i ill say i still love s4 and note 3 ..

Received a system update today.

I don't know the names why do people remember the names?

I had a Ericsson which was a grey block with a thick stubby antenna and a flap you folded down to talk into it.
I had a Nokia that looked like what everyone thinks of when they think of nokia only with added hello kitty stickers.
I had a nokia like the one on the matrix only it lit up red as the previous owner modded it.
I had a sony Ericsson that was silver with chrome bit round the screen and a little joystick.
I had a Samsung D500 best phone ever only one I really remember with fondness.
I had a toco lite i think it was which was pants.
I had a htc desire s i think it is which was also pants.
I have a THL T6C which i like a lot and am content with.

As of now I have an iPhone 7Plus

Feel free to ask :D
haha well.. last years (2016) only last years i owned all of the following:
ee kestrel
huawei p6
asus zenfone 5
huawei p8 lite
lumia 535
moto x
infocus m330
smart ultra 6 (x2)
sony xperia z (x2)
xperia m4 aqua
huawei honor 7 (x2 - second one briefly as was faulty so returned to seller)
infocus m560 (x2)
oneplus 3
alcatel idol 4
huawei p9
i bought the huawei p6 in 2014 used for about 18months, then battery swelled so sent for repair & bought the ee kestrel to use in the interim which I ended up using for about a year as well.
i then bought the p8 lite to replace the ee kestrel. i got the zenfone 5 for a good price it was the 2 gb ram version actually preferred it to the p8 lite, build quality was excellent felt premium and comfortable in hand but sadly the battery life was dire.
bought the su6 as i wanted to try it after all the hype was ok but too big for my personal liking plus hated the one color led notification.
the honor 7 was good but i needed to sell it on order to afford the op3.

Amateurs. I've had Nokia 8210, 3210, 3410 and 6150. Your Smart phones can't hold a candle to them.
old school
I'm still with it ;)
ah i assumed from your op that you had moved on

Thinking about cubot dinosaur, Wiley fox swift etc
Anyone any views
well i know cyanogen will cease to exist pretty soon sooo wouldnt go for the wileyfox if i were you. shame, i always wanted to try one out. what's your budget?
I'm very happy with my p9 too, much better battery life than any of the others I tried and I just like the feel of it.
Received a system update today.
yeah funnily enough i find the p9 to have marginally better battery life than the op3.
i havent had a system update recently, mines is on o2 though i,m using it on giff gaff. current version is EVA/L09C432B166

I have a THL T6C which i like a lot and am content with.
lol well my orignal list i didnt exactly have time to forget their names coz it was literally only 2016 phones haha. but i guess i can still remember most of my other phones, my very first mobile was a sharp gx15 (back in the day) which got stolen (well was in my backback which got stolen from the staff room at work) & i got it replaced via my insurer by motorola l6... i remember having a moto razr at one point too.
not sure if anything waas between those & my samsung tocco ultra , which i loved but then it broke & would have been stupid not to then invest in a smartphone. i remebmer being dead against it .
my first smart phone was a samsung galaxy captivate (US version of the galaxy s1, had it imported) loved that phone. had an htc salsa briefly & a uk s1. then onto huawei p6 and well you know the rest.
i need to take a break....how to cure my addiction!?

Hi folks.

Looking to buy a new mobile and I'm drawn to the Moto G4/G4 Plus due to affordability combined with decent spec.

Could any former/current owners share their opinions?
what's your budget?
moto g's are good for updates but apparently the g4 has a known ghost touch issue (probably worth looking into)
what kinda spec are you looking for? I'd probably say for around the price of the g4 you could get a xiaomi redmi 3s pro/prime or a xiaomi redmi note 3 pro/prime.
both come in 32gb models which have 3gb ram (or 16gb with 2gb ram), finger scanner, 4000mah battery, metal body.
of course you'd have to import from china and wait 3-4 weeks & have no guarentee as such
i've never used one but would like to try. all depends if you would be willing to take the risk but there are lots of thread & deals posted here so you could ask around if interested.
if that doesnt float your boat & you are open to buying second hand then check ebay, if you have time to wait then an honor 7 around the 150 mark usually pops up from time to time. 3gb ram, 16gb memory, marshmallow, 20mp camera, 3100mah battery, fingerscanner, metal unibody, 5.2 inch screen & was uk released. this is the one thing that puts me off getting a xiaomi

I'm currently in dispute with Motorola over my faulty G4. It developed 'ghost touch' after 12 weeks and I have been unable to get a refund, despite two failed repairs. They offered me a reconditioned phone and eventually a new one. I am pursuing a Section 75 refund claim through Barclaycard for a refund because I don't trust the brand or the customer 'service'.

If you do buy a Motorola then I would advise you to buy through a reputable third party retailer and, if you have any problems with the phone, report them immediately.

Bluetooth on my LG G2 keeps flaking out. An error pops up saying 'Bluetooth not responding' or something and as soon as I dismiss it it pops up again. The bluetooth icon sort of flashes when it does it. Doesn't happen all the time, but happens quite a lot.

Did try factory resetting and it's not made much difference. Is there anything else I can try, or is it ****?
