Okay, so I really don't want this expensive peice of kit to roam the streets without insurance.
I was wondering if anyone can recommend anywhere I can get decent mobile phone insurance with a company that checks out 'okay'.

o2 want £10 a month.

Have you checked with your bank? With my barclays additions account I get insurance for 2 mobiles.

If you have a credit card, check with your issuer if they do it complimentary.

Insurance2go is £53.91 for an annual policy which includes loss and you get £6 quidco. So works out about £4 a month.

Are they a legit company?

Just don't want to pay out like £100 over two years to find out if I need to use it they'll just fob me off.

I looked at this company before as just got my iphone 3gs today

spoke to them regarding excess and apprarantly their excess is £100 if you make a claim within the first 3 months of the insurance and then £50 excess for the rest of the term so was a bit put off

Tempted by this company as if you buy 12 months insurance in one go you get it for around £71 a year on an iphone 3gs and their is a 10% off code on here which would knock it down to £64.72 for 12 months cover.

Not sure if it's worth using the code as apparantly it relates to people in a certain university so the insurance company may try and get out of a claim if you use the code and it's not meant for you but thats just my thinking as insurance companies like to try and get out of claims

Think their excess is £50 and £25 but would have to double check the T&C's

These are recommended by MSE so I guess they'd be okay. I might go with them too.

What's the code?

It seems £75 for loss. £50 for accidental damage and theft and £25 for everything else.

7. An excess fee for all claims which must be paid before your claim can be approved.
If your claim is for an iPhone, the excess fee is £50 for any claim relating to theft or damage, and £75 for any claim relating to loss. For any international claim, the excess fee is £75.
For all other items, there is an excess fee of £25 for theft / damage claims and £50 for loss claims and £75 for international claims.

Hopefully wouldnt lose my phone as more worried about damage and theft
Think this company has been the best I have seen so far but in the same boat as you mate as didnt want to pay £10 a month to o2

They threw the insurance on my contract in the shop even though I didnt want it they said they had to add it and you can cancel it but in other words the sales team get comission on the insurance sales so i cancelled the policy when i got back from the shop

The only upper hand the insurance with o2 has is £25 excess. I'm tempted with them there.

Thats true, it's good if you need to claim but hope i dont require to claim on the insurance
it's just the extra £4 a month more expensive the o2 insurance which doesnt sound expensive but over 18 months it adds up

Talkcover 12 months insurance - £70
o2 12 months insurance - £120

Think I am walming to the talkcover insurance, not in a big rush as still got 3 months left to run on my N95 contract so wont be taking my iphone everywhere yet especially with no insurance

£70 for 12 months insurance or £65 if using code from this site, their excess is less compared to insure2go on the chance that you make a claim on the handset

Apparantly this company has been used by people on the MSE site and reccomend it

Get a current account from Lloyds TSB. I'm doing this tomorrow.

http://www.lloydstsb.com/current_acc...breakdown1.asp

silver one.

£30 excess too!

http://www.lloydstsb.com/current_acc...nt_account.asp

Thats what you get altogether for the £7.50.

£3 for the first two months too.

It's a no brainer if it includes AA breakdown and European travel insurance aswell.

Did you get this in the end?

Just had a look and ithe £7.50 per month after the 1st 2 months doesn't seem great as i'm already paying £10 and AA covered but i suppse the security of Lloyds (in terms of brand and high street presence anyways:whistling:) makes it a good deal.

Do all banks do this? I'm with HBOS so and quite happy
