99% of all contract phones are unlocked anyway, what phone do you have??
#2
orange phones from there website arent unlocked.

all phones from carphone warehouse are sim free

Just borrow a mates or someone at works etc payg sim and pop it in your phone, you must know someone who is payg

There's a £20 charge to unlock (from Orange) if your contract or payg.
Cheaper to go to a local phone shop, should be 5 to 10 quid...

It should be unlocked, as i said before 99% of all contract phones are not locked, it is generally only the exclusive phones to one particular retailer,

Trouble with that is all Orange contract phones I have ever had or seen are always locked if it has the Orange logo on actual phone or has an "e" in version number on phone casing etc "it's locked"

If you got it from CPW and no orange logo it will be unlocked already

its a k850i orange branded from an orange store.
I was just wondering because i am nearing the end of the contract, so as now in theory once the contract runs out i have paid for it in full i should be able to unlock it free? well that was my thought pattern!

orange take 2weeks for £20 and it doesn't always work. go some local place and most phones are £10 and sometimes u can get them down abit

or depending on the phone u can do it for free on the net (not K850i) i don't think

Its a good theory but Orange will always change the fee, its cheaper to take it to your local phone shop and pay them the 5 or 10 quid to do it

Yeah i had this problem with Orange a month ago. They were charging £15.00 and wouldnt waive it. I argued then they agreed. then got cut off. When i rang them back they told me they didnt have any details of that etc..

The csr's can't wave the fee the system won't let them. So they say yes, hit the escape key on their keyboard (which cuts the call) and when the customer calls back it's someone else's problem. . .
