Got a trade in value for my Note 4 of £170 from Music Magpie.

They received it yesterday and said it had LCD burn and offered me £17 (there was nothing wrong with it).

Obviously getting it sent back and apparently there has been a Watchdog article about this too.

Are they hoping people will accept these offers?

Annoyed and needed to rant a little.

I always take my stuff to grainger games, they give usually the best price, and theres no risk of it getting damaged/false claims. Did you take any photos etc before you sent it?

I got £120 for Galaxy S5 neo from game and cex offered £110. I didn't like the idea of posting off especially as most the online ones only offered £40-£80

I did the same the other month. They offered me 90 odd for a Z3 but when they received it said there was an issue with the screen and came back with a £12 offer. Also said that if i refused it, they would just destroy the phone and not return it.

Will never use them again.

No. At the time I had other things going on and it just wasn't something I was prepared to get into. Have always used envirophone in the past and will definitely avoid musicmagpie in future, no matter what the "offer."

Screen burn gets repaired under warranty. So is the phone still under warranty?.

There's been a lot of complaints about Musicmagpie of late.
I think we should stay clear of this company for our own sanity.

I learnt this the hard way too some years ago seems this company will never change. others are the same too cex is the only one id send off to now they even return games and dvds if they reject them. Music magpie makes it up rejects the items then bins them or so they say.

I hope you didn't let them get away with that?. Its your phone so if you don't accept their offer then they must return YOUR phone. Its your property. I suspect that a lot of people are accepting these £12 offers, that's why they keep doing it. If they didn't return my phone i'd be taking them to court for sure.

Envirofone has always paid out what they said
