Mobiles.co.uk advice please

I am considering a new phone contract, possibly on Orange at £45 per month.

Mobiles.co.uk seem to offer the best deal as they offer cashback or a DSi etc.

I will need to port my existing mobile number (O2) to the new phone contract, is ths easy to do with this company? Would I have to contact them, or would I deal directly with Orange once i've got the phone and contract?

I've always gone direct to the network (O2) to purchase in the past so just wondered if I can still contact the network direct or only with the retailer mobiles.co.uk if I purchased from them ?

I use my existing phone contract for business so need to stick with something reputable.

Any advice much appreciated,

Steve

A year or so ago when I had a contract with mobiles.co.uk and Orange one of the terms and conditions of the contract was that I had to have a new phone number and porting my old number to the new phone could void my cashback. It's worth looking into all the T&Cs of the contract you're hoping to get, I found a lot of little issues that could cause trouble with cashback. Things may have changed now though a year or so on....

Thanks for the advice, I will check it out. I would stick with O2 but my calls are not always connecting and cannot hear the person at the other end of the call and i'm not really getting any luck sorting it out hence why i'm considering moving to another network for peace of mind.

Hi there,

Mobiles.co.uk are only the retailer selling the phone and contract, so once you have it you use Orange's customer services, are billed by Orange etc.

Porting is easy, simply take out your new phone and then give Orange a call with your PAC from O2 to arrange the transfer.

Porting a number onto your contract doesn't affect cashback.

There are a lot of people who have been extremely disappointed with the service
and a lot of 1* reviews..
