On all the games i've played this morning, the game is fine apart from everyone is running around really fast, including myself, makes it very difficult to shoot anyone.

anyone else had this happen?

yeah i tried different lobbys and it still happened, haven't been back on yet
This happened a few times on COD4....was great playing domination, you could get from one end of the map to the other end in less than 5

it must be some quirk when its configuring the game as it only happens every now and again. funny tho....

the MW2 game I played in last time it happened let me jump quite high into the air....the downside was that when I landed it killed me as I was playing hardcore team deathmatch :-(
yeah it's funny trying to kill each other as everyone is moving so fast, one end of the map to another in no time at all
i know if u get a care package ,and hold the cannister in your hand and run,you run faster than normal
Stopped playing this a few months ago - The boosters, glitchers and have ruined the game.

Also, it's an 18 rated game - Why are the lobbys full of what sounds like pupils of Springfield High (Simpsons).
this is a common glitch, there's a name for it, ice skating or something its called. Been going for a long time. Think the host has to be a modder.
Hacks/Mod, I'm not sure how it works but I believe the short explanation is that someone has used a mod (in this case speed running or whatever name they wish to call it), played online and at some point hosted a game - what then happens is whoever is connected ends up having the mods in the cache of their hard drive which, consequentially each game after you'll always come across and pass on this modification.

Only way to remove this modification and return your games back to normal would be to fully restart your console (powering it off then on again) to delete any temporary files on the cache of your hard drive.

There are various modifications that have appeared, some examples include infinite ammo (with no reloads, ends up with a lot of grenade launcher shots flying everywhere) and all rounds being "explosive" chopper gunner ammo.

Infinity Ward and Microsoft have been taking steps in removing the chances of coming across these mods by filtering the playlists and of course banning/suspending people who are suspect of using mods and modified Xbox 360 units.
how do you delete temp files from your xbox 360 hard drive?
I had this few weeks ago, it's mental! great for a one off, would start to annoy me if it happens all the time!
how do you delete temp files from your xbox 360 hard drive?

Ah, from a quick google search there is an easier method:
Go to "Memory Device" on the NXE dashboard and press Y, there should be an option to "Clear System Cache"

Sorry for not being accurate it is due to the fact that I no longer own a Xbox 360 so my memory is vague.

I apologise if I didn't make it clear in my initial post - from what I've read to remove this glitch (by deleting temporary files stored on your hard drive) one will have to restart their console (turning it off then on).

Just about everything mentioned here are just glitches, the care package(which is now supposedly fixed was very easy to do, (Jump and throw in certain places) the seemingly endless grenade launcher is really just knowing how to use 1 man army in a certain way, "Care package marker glitch were you run faster when you have a marker in your hand", the Pave Low glitch. javalin glitch etc etc.
It is not modded consoles as these are easily done on both consoles and you can't mod the PS3...
It's partly the devs fault but this game (Like Team Fortress ) attracts certain type of people who will spend weeks just trying to find a glitch and when you multiplay them by thousands it's almost impossible for the devs to stop them all and all they can do is release updates to counter them.

(Though with team fortress you can mod and it will carry on over to the next host of the game until reset).

You are correct that the glitches you have listed are exactly that where people are exploiting them (IW have released a patch recently to fix the care package glitch, v1.09 on PS3, suspect the 360 patch has already been released - also the javelin glitch was fixed a few patches previous) however from what the OP has described it sounds like a mod that someone has spread. can't mod the PS3...

At no point did I imply that these modified games are present online on the PS3 version (hence why I stated that IW and Microsoft have been taking steps to reduce encountering these modified games) and that due to the reason you have correctly stated.

I direct you to the following articles which explains how these work and spread, one of which looks familiar to what the OP has described:
Infinite Ammo Mod:[update]
From link above, don't think One Many Army perk can exploit grenade launchers to this extent :p.

"Speed Skating"[update]
LOL after seeing that one I don't think I will bother with this game anymore,

(The one who sent out the AC130 name is showing so he will be banned)

lol yeah it looks crazy but at the same time fun to play with friends (given that one is doing it in a private match then deleting the mod before going on public games).

In all fairness the infinite ammo mod has been patched in a sense that it filters out games which are "infected" with the mod however I'm guessing the creators of said mods have found a workaround for it [in OP's case speed skating] to go public again.

Furthermore from what I understand this mod spreads to unsuspecting people who join a game where the person hosting has the, "infection.". I would therefore imagine it to be hard to distinguish between those who have run into these mods by accident and those who are distributing it purposely to a level in which to ban/suspend people.

For example in the OPs case, if souljacker has stumbled into a mod (assuming that it is) and continued to play unaware that he/she can potentially spread the mod by hosting a game (perhaps already done so) does souljacker deserve to be banned/suspended from XBL?

In regards to boosting I have been fortunate enough not to experience such an occurrence as of yet, just hope I don't any time soon.
