Hiya Mike and welcome to HUKD. They don't like noise and they don't like digging/rotivating so they tend to wander off if you do a lot of gardening. The earth that they push up is well broken up and nice for adding to multi-purpose compost for your potted plants!! They don't like their runs being collapsed.

Gas!!

Oh and..ultrasonic mole deterrents as posted above.

Why does everyone feel the need to be so cruel when it comes to animals??

get a big novelty blow up hammer and run around trying to bumb them on the head

Concrete.

Lets see the little ******s burrow through that.

If you replace the grass with it, it makes the lawn much easier to cut as well.

Watch caddyshack and use the same idea but apply it to your creature

Of course, if you REALLY want to keep the grass but you're fed up with mowing it, try watering it with a little alcohol added to the sprinkler.

The grass will come up half cut.

That will probably leave you with some unused alcohol.
