MoneyExpert car insurance cashback deal very misleading

It says on their website that "If you are able to find a better deal anywhere online we will REFUND 110% OF THE DIFFERENCE!" (notice there is no asterisk). So I go on confused.com and the cheapest quote I get is £50 cheaper than the cheapest quote MoneyExpert could find (same excesses and details etc). So you'd think MoneyExpert would be coughing up £55 as I found a better deal somewhere else online.

Well if you have a look at their terms and conditions, the cheaper quote must be from an insurer on their rather limited panel of insurance providers! Surprise, surprise NONE of the top 10 cheapest quotes were on their panel of insurance providers. What a con!

If you think its not clear then bring it to the attention of either trading standards or asa.

It is easy to do and the respond pretty quick with their opinion.

Did you ignore the clear link on the page to the terms and conditions then?

No, not at all but I think that such significant terms should be made apparent in the offer and at the very least an asterisk just after the offer with the exception written on same page. Not everyone reads T&C's which is why I thought I'd bring it to people's attention.

Think you've missed the jist of what I was saying as well. My thread was caveat emptor not another rant like you were probably expecting.
