Ok, so i sold a monitor, which was in perfect condition pre packed - It had on the package (This way up) which was more than clear enough to see.. This obviously wasn't obeyed, as the plug has damaged the screen... What are courier's like with insurance?

shocking probably. Check that they haven't got an exclusion on items such as TVs, monitors etc

I cant see them having an exclusion on anything with a screen because that is a big market they would be losing out on!

Did they offer you extra insurance or how much was your goods insured to with your delivery plan that you used?

Placing anything over the screen is asking for trouble. When sending items through a delivery service always think of how the items may be handled.....rough in most cases. You'' probably find the courier may have an excess and a policy on what they won't pay out for.

Read their own terms for the service you took, website or posting documents, is the best advice

It is insured for upto £50 (which is what i was selling it for)

Ok, well give them a ring and see what they say... i personally would 'forget' to mention that it was the plug that damaged the screen ;-)

Pretty sure you will not be covered as they don't usually cover tvs/monitors etc, and if you put the plug in front of the screen then its poor packing

If you look at Parcel 2 Go computer monitors are not covered, which will be the courier norm

https://www.parcel2go.com/shipping-items.aspx#unins

The following items (or any item similar in description or content) can only be carried on a no compensation basis on any service.
Any person sending such an item does so at their own risk

most dont cover laptops or screens.

fancy packaging it in a way so that the plug was against the screen. It was obvious it would smash the screen and putting THIS WAY UP labels on does not circumvent the bad packaging.

Should have been taped and bound to the base of the screen.
